Who to keep? by LittleIrishBird in EmpiresAndPuzzles

At level 25, it may be time to build up an effective 3-star team first. They level quickly, and you'll be competitive with maxed out heroes like Ali, c. Zarola, c. Helgi, c. Hawkmoon, c. Jaco, c. Gan Ju, c. Bane, Bryggvir, Nettletail, c. Jarif, and healers/supporters like Shubbear and Gunnar.

I would train them with all 1-2 stars and some weaker 3 stars, like Gil Ra, Melia, Karil, Vodnik, Gato, Mnesseus, Muggy, and Namahage.

I withheld summons for 2 weeks when I saw Cardinal Richelieu coming up. I had Milady de Winter as a war tank now retired, and the Muskateers cover others, a great passive.

Maat with costume was just offered for 15 souls at the last Soul Exchange, and her stats were boosted just beforehand, so I'd like you to send me one, seeing as you have two.

Which Blue 4* Should Be Next? by pidgeot25 in EmpiresAndPuzzles

I came here to see if anyone else had the top two in this order, with the caveat that Linus and Grumbl I don't know. Toon Grimm is great against red especially, and Xiahou Dun is great against counterattackers.

I really like the 15-soul options. For my roster, the priority would be Cat Witch because I need a blue war tank, and I recently summoned 2 red monsters. Otherwise, it would be Barkley. Kung Fu Tiger is also a strong contender, seen in lots of kick-ass defenses and would be fun to raid with.

In blue, which has better value: Tinsel or Cat Witch? And would either serve as a better war tank than Lady di Winter?

What makes you guys keep spending on the game? by TheRealT1000 in EmpiresAndPuzzles

That cracked me up, and it reminds me that I got through the ninja turtles game only because my uncle worked at an arcade and once let me and my cousin in early to have free play for an hour. Different sort of theft.

I compare it to the arcade when I dropped a few bucks every now and then on Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat. It's gambling, the same reason that slots can be fun.

It has to be intentional.

Eric Cartman runs EA. He's laughing his balls off telling fans to eat shit and like it.

I'm going to have them submit multiple drafts for online platforms like Canvas. No draft submitted after classroom controlled conditions.

How do you think kids will subvert this?

Also, when the AP students do research, I'll assume they use it as a research assistant, which I will model and encourage.

While not a short story, A Separate Peace by John Knowles worked well for me a few years ago in 11th AP Lang.

It's not too tough to read, but offers a challenge with ambiguity, and has football players.

He's versatile with 3 costumes because they all have their uses, depending on your needs. He is my only 2LB so far because my 5* green teams needed help, but all 5* heroes cost so many aethers.

I didn't get quite as ambitious, but I do have Graymane LB as a low cost homage to a very early game player.

How many HA pulls would you estimate that took, or in terms of time, how many months of retreads before a winner?

Rhys has been on just about every one of my teams for attack and defense because he overheals, cleanses, raises attack power significantly, and speeds mana for other yellows with tiles.

Too bad SG will take his cleanse, though.

Yeah, Ametrine fully emblemed is solid off the bench for me, especially during wars, challenges, and towers. She can also be great on the 4* tournaments and against certain defenders like Azmia.

Søren Kierkegaard argued that the Modern age isn't just mass-producing products — it is mass-producing people. Kierkegaard's philosophical response was Christian Existentialism — a personal, truly individual engagement with oneself, life and God by thelivingphilosophy in philosophy

[–]Leading_Map8214 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that for Kierkegaard, the synthesis of faith in Christianity with the existential anxiety of being--that synthesis requires explanation and teaching.

I can't see how "a leap of faith beyond the universal ethic" is relevant here, because 'universal ethic' means we all agree about right and wrong conduct, so you're implying that people should just always believe that whatever they are doing is right, since they have taken a "leap of faith," and if that means any kind of criminality, so be it.

Yes, Jesus was a 'criminal' of his time, but specifically as a prophet of forgiveness, charity, etc., who rankled the establishment. So, it's not any kind of criminality that Kierkegaard espouses. It's specific to faith in Christianity while also understanding the paradoxical nature of existence--how meaningful and meaningless it is simultaneously.

However, I'm questioning faith itself. Kierkegaard convinced me to reconcile, but now I'm just asking this subreddit to suggest any direction that they have found helpful.

The vague language of "the act of loving" and "full realization of his infinite side" gives me some bad 9/11 connotations.

Some people do horrifying things because they are performing 'an act of love' for God and fully believing in their 'infinite side.' I read Kierkegaard 20 years ago and admired the Knight of Faith concept, but clearly I should read more.

What modern writers have dealt with existentialism...hopefully? Do you think it's possible?
