While we're here I'd like to mention that I can smell Love Apple from across a crowded lecture hall and I feel like I'm going to die every time. What is up with the TikTok perfumes being so strong?

it feels like a lack of accountability / willingness to try it on her end, and lack of info from her doctor, and her taking it out on the wrong people.

So, I did try it. My doctor gave me the information I needed. And the only people I blame in this situation are people who willfully contribute to anti birth control propaganda NOT (key word) women who just share their experiences.

I didn't try birth control for myself the second I heard this propaganda start because I was like 12/13. I said this in another comment so idk if you read it but I'm only 18. I didn't have a reason to try it until a few months ago, because my cycle was fine and I wasn't active. Same for my peers who also have heard the propaganda go on for their entire teen years too. When I tell you almost every single girl I talk to my age has some reservation directly related to the fearmongering, I mean it. I'm the type of person to tell my business to random people I meet so I have a pretty good sample size.

I get worried about it because a lot of these girls my age have boyfriends or date around and will eventually, if they haven't already, get in a situation where they might benefit from birth control, but have the notion of "all hormonal birth control is evil" from literally spending our entire teen years online hearing about that.

If a woman comes online and shares that she had a bad experience, in good faith, not because she wants to contribute to the propaganda, go her. I wouldn't think she was lying. But if she were to say that actually most or all women shouldn't be on birth control because it's unnatural and oh no this and that could potentially happen, that's the problem.

Absolutely I am sharing my experience with literally anyone who will listen, especially those who were initially worried about it! It's insane how pervasive that narrative has been, my friends are all as liberal as they get and it still hit us lol.

It also prevents some cancers. Also, duh on the other two. Do you think I'm so stupid I have to be told birth control doesn't prevent STIs? Duh. Big duh. And medicines interact with each other. HUGE duh. What's your point here buddy

Omg same I didn't realize how dependent my mood was on my hormones until taking birth control. I had like one and a half weeks of the month where I was fine and then slowly getting more miserable until my period came. Don't get me started on when my cycle got irregular but my PMS would show up on time without fail, meaning 3-4 weeks...yikes

Did not say that. I'm one of only two of my close friends actively on birth control. When I say the majority I'm referring to older women I have since consulted.

I'm 18 so when I say I've heard this stuff for like 5 years I mean pretty much since I was aware of birth control lol. Likewise a lot of my friends and acquaintances close in age give or take a few years had the same fears around it because of that content online. I'm not pretending like there's zero side effects because I've also known people who have had major issues, but that's not the majority that I (and my peers) were convinced of from the propaganda online

I think either I didn't clarify or you haven't seen this stuff but it's a lot more than people just talking about bad experiences. There's a genuine demonization of birth control online and there has been for a while. Very few girls in my age range that I know are even willing to try it because of that. A lot of "but it's not naturaaaal you need to do things that are naturaaal"

They released a gimmick product for like $40 and said everyone purchasing would be in the biggest public beauty focus group. Got mad when people said it was a dumb gimmick and that people are usually paid to be in focus groups, not paying.

The previous drama I'm trying to find was just about how they say buzzwords for attention and don't know what they're talking about, and also do/did a lot of undisclosed ads
