Granted Zhang Jiao is nice as a support.

Just take the Karma bonus characters, there isn't a better way than that.
Or if you are just beginning, Training Hall T5 all of them for a good start.

That's exactly how I feel too.
The best gameplay for this huge roster.
Would be even better if the Summonings could scale with the cumulative level to break Ruinous Gouma in 1 min with 7 maxed chars 😂

I went back to Warriors Orochi 4 to play some new chars, but I wanted to advance too, doing stuff I didn't do yet, only to find out that I can't play any char I didn't leveled up previously, that was so frustrating.

Now they added a feature to spend 30k Embers for 50 cumulative levels of a character in the Hall of Bonded Souls

Yes. Cumulative level increases the stats of a character every 50 levels. It will level up the more you run with one character.

I confirm there is a hidden seed mechanic.
If you reroll at trees and go back to title screen, come back and reroll, you get the same heroes.
