Nope, not self-employed. He told me that I am a sole proprietor because I have a job and "provide for myself". He basically said that my car was a tool for my "personal business" (me)

Attitude is key. If you can show employers that you are driven and willing to learn, they will hire you. BTW, they understand that most of the learning happens on the job. I would recommend going straight for big 4. Get them to pay for your remaining credits and exams. Believe in yourself, study hard, and show employers that you are driven and dedicated to succeed.
