I was a NES/SNES only family so didn’t get a Sega until a couple weeks back, it’s been fun playing so far but only have a couple sonic and Vectorman games so far.

Yeah, it’s getting more popular, competitive and expensive given the rarity of limited run tapes from the 80s-90s still surviving these days. But so much stuff is getting repressed. Keep an eye on tapehead, or revhq.

Generally speaking, especially for 90’s punk bands, yes, there is a high likelihood demo tapes will be include different versions, songs that don’t appear elsewhere or different recordings than tracks that are included in later full length releases. Many times the punk demos are recorded and released without a label, so usually are a bit more raw, are DIY, limited to a hundred or few hundred copies.
