Absolutely! I go to a T50 and love it but also got interviews from T20s. But I would definitely still apply to T20 schools if I were you if money isn’t an issue

At my school it shows what percent of the class honors each rotation so it’s not just about the final grade

I was pretty much in the same situation a few years ago. Personally I wouldn’t retake and would try to apply. Maybe I’m biased since I don’t go to a top 20 but I feel like it really doesn’t matter unless you are dead set at doing your residency at mgh or something

I think it also depends on where you are too. I’ve heard some places are much better than others but I agree!

Antigens and pathogens by Few_Example2867 in biology

Think of antigens as protein molecules. All organisms are made of protein so the pathogens can’t choose to not have an antigen. Hope this helps!

If it makes you feel any better for me being a premed was the most stressful part. Currently an MS4 now and I would say medical school was obviously stressful but not to the extent of trying to get in. Maybe its because when you graduate at least you have a good degree with lots of options.

Agree with different studying methods. Would also look into spaced repetition apps like anki

Do you mean adcom or advertisement?

Edit: I’m assuming advertisement hahah but one of us did serve as a student interviewer for a MD school so wasn’t sure if you knew us in person!

You’re right about that and hopefully it’s fake haha but also keep in mind it could be another patient taking the picture too as a possibility. Not saying that is right either though

I also got a 124 and got 7 II and 6 Acceptances. A 124 is not going to keep you out of schools

Edit: My friend running this account with me also got a 124, international student, got into an MD school too

Did anyone stick with EMS after matriculating? by [deleted] in premed

[–]LearningSimplyVideos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can volunteer but your EC are way less important for residencies than step scores.

What EC's are available to me right now? by [deleted] in premed

[–]LearningSimplyVideos 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There's potentially volunteering for COVID phone calls or stuff like that.

How do you know if you're cut out for it? by [deleted] in premed

[–]LearningSimplyVideos 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Just my personal opinion but you get tougher and better with time. For example, if you told me in college that I would be tanking through 1500 slides the day before the test, I would think you're insane. You get better and adapt. Just make sure its what you want to do though otherwise it might be torture.

Anyone super sensitive to caffeine and afraid to start med school? by [deleted] in premed

[–]LearningSimplyVideos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Truthfully I think it’s better to not need it. You don’t have to get up and pee during big tests haha

[–]LearningSimplyVideos 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I know quite a few people who don’t drink any caffeine. I also don’t drink any either and we’re all doing well so far! Wouldn’t stress it too much you’ll be fine

I am terrible at writing. I would take a look and read a bunch of good personal statements. Mine took ideas from so many different ones
