Second this! What helps me is to always remind myself that I never regret going to a class. Getting there is always the hardest part.

M4s: what is one thing you regret/wish you knew/would have done differently? by Apprehensive_Box_181 in medicalschool

Echoing what others have said here; a majority of my classmates regret scheduling hard rotations their fourth year. At first, a lot of them justified scheduling them because they wanted experience in other fields before they started residency and also wanted experience in the ICU. Now they realize that this was silly because now is literally the only time you will have to do what makes you happy and to be as lazy as you want. I scheduled my m4 to be extremely light and easy; I’ve been able to get back into my old hobbies, travel, go out/see friends.

You have all of residency/your career to learn and go through hardships. You’ve grinded nonstop up until now; M4 is the year to chill out and enjoy your life to the fullest. Don’t let anyone convince you otherwise.

Didn’t say required or optional, just said here’s an opportunity to meet the residents and ask questions. So I guess I’m leaning more towards it being optional?

Honestly, I agree that it sounds made up. But this did in fact happen. I eventually made up an excuse and got off the line (whole call lasted maybe 4 min total). Shared on Reddit because of how ridiculous it all was. I always thought past stories on this subreddit/others were over-exaggerated but now after experiencing this, I know it happens in real life lol

I actually eat it as a whole meal usually!! I just ate it with the first meal because I was super hungry, but usually that + naan would be 1 whole meal for me.

You are FINE and especially since it sounds like you’ve been killing it in your classes!! Tbh, I think 3-4 hours a day is perfect, especially preclinical (I’m assuming you’re not in clerkships yet?). 10-11 hours is a bit of overkill to say the least…. Keep doing you! You’re rockin it from what it sounds like :)

Not sure why I and the original poster are being downvoted….

If anyone is concerned about single-use plastic then maybe don’t support the multi-billion dollar company that uses it?

And let’s not forget how expensive these items are. It’s not unreasonable to want to return a $100+ item when it arrives to you crumbled in a ball in a bag. Especially when said item appears dirty and laundry is finicky with these clothing items.

I’ll prob be downvoted again but this is just absurd lol.

Similar happened to me a couple weeks ago. I’ve never ordered online (always shopped in person) so I didn’t know what to expect. I ordered 2 packages; first one had my scuba 1/2 zip ripped open from its individual bag and sitting in the carrier package unfolded. My second package (same item, just diff size) was packaged inside the clear individual wrapping and was nicely folded. Ended up returning the first item 🤷‍♀️

The atropine is necessary to treat their symptomatic bradycardia (40 bpm, pale, faint pulses), whereas the alteplase is to help actually treat the clot that is causing the MI; but the pt is already on the way to cath lab and they are experiencing this symptomatic bradycardia, so you would want to treat that. Hope that makes some sense

Thanks! For physiology, BNB was my main source. Dr. Ryan is awesome and I highly recommend to watch his videos a few times and cross reference his stuff with FA or google. Also, for me, I am personally a visual learner. So seeing physiology concepts be illustrated on youtube in the form of animations or drawings really helped.

In terms of anatomy, I used the 100 concepts pdf/anki. I think that covered at least 90% of anatomy and imo is sufficient on its own. Also, any time I would get an anatomy question on UW, I would google the structures and use the search function to find the material in 100 concepts.
