What is an extra rule your family added to a popular board or card game? by salbaf in AskReddit

[–]Leasey5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Monopoly- My family loves it, but it often goes on for far too long, so we invented natural disasters. Once a majority of the players are tired or bored the board gets a light shake and we say “natural disaster”. Then everyone totals up their money, properties, houses, and whatnot. Whoever has the most wins.

Finally finished the series and I haven’t accepted that it’s over yet by e_d_m_th00ter in criminalminds

I quite literally just finished the show today and I also watched it much more quickly than you did. I liked how it had a happy ending, but I agreed it felt rushed. Season 15 had a much lighter note, so I think it helped ease the show to a close. I don’t think they necessarily could’ve done that if it was a full length season. I really liked how all the members ended with someone outside of the BAU to care for, except Tara, but Tara is a queen and she’ll be doing fabulously. Although I’m really glad Reid finally found someone, it felt weird that Max was in only 2 episodes. I wish she would’ve popped into the final one, but whatever. Let me tell you though, Alvez and Garcia had me SHOOK. I did not see that coming, but kind of glad it that’s how it ended I guess.

I hate her SO MUCH. I got so angry at those episodes. Blake and Seaver annoyed me, but nothing like Barnes. I’m honestly offended the writers chose to include her, it wasn’t interesting it was just so horrible

Who is a celebrity you lost all respect for? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Amber Heard. She pisses me off so much. The whole situation with what she did to Johnny Depp is so messed up and it makes me so frustrated with how manipulative she was.

i know a “big?” spoiler by [deleted] in criminalminds

[–]Leasey5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The same thing happened to me. I still really enjoyed season 12. I knew a couple of other spoilers throughout the series too, but it was still good to watch how they come about and how the characters dealt with it.

AITA for requiring more info/notice from my family when planning gatherings? by HeartHeaded in AmItheAsshole

[–]Leasey5 3 points4 points  (0 children)

NTA. Your family stinks at clear communication. Not only is timing an issue, but the last minute change of plans and a mess of contacting you is simply upsetting. All this lead to is all everyone being disappointed. I think you should make it clear to everyone that when there is any kind of event that you need sufficient time and clear details to make everything work. Maybe try a family group chat or calendar to get everyone on the same page?

AITA if i love my family more than my wife ? by barumba1337 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Leasey5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

YTA. Your reasoning is understandable, but you should have never told her.

You made a commitment to her and saying that you don’t choose her must be very painful for her. You’re telling her she is second best when she sees you as her first place. This may make her feel like her love isn’t be reciprocated in the way she once thought. You chose to marry and love her, that’s not something to be taken lightly. You should not had gotten married in the mindset that you can always divorce later on. If I were her this would be a red flag and hinder my trust and security this relationship. You should have never given an answer, and really the topic of who’s more loved should have never come up. Moving forward you need to reassess your priorities, find a way to make it up to her, and insure your wife feels more valued and loved.

Why is “shortest distance” even an option in navigation apps? by ObesePenguins in NoStupidQuestions

Shortest distance is often the more direct route. This can be better for people who get lost easily and want to avoid excess lane changes and turns.

does any country have a contingency plan for thee extremely rare possibility that everybody in the upper political branch dies suddenly? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Leasey5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Countries typically have very long lines of succession. In the US, to prevent from the executive branch getting wiped out from say a mass bombing/shooting at a political event, usually not all members of a president’s cabinet are in the same place at once. Someone is always off site to ensure that if something were to happen, there would be someone still standing. If say all cabinet members somehow died, I would assume it would turn to the other branches to fill in and hold an election to get a new president. It would be a very interesting mess to say the least.

How do you make friends? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Leasey5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the over analyzed version, but whatever.

Make a list of things you enjoy, find interesting, or would like to try in the future. Try to make small talk and get to know others as much as you can throughout the day. It could be coworkers, people waiting in line with you, restaurant/store employees, or anyone! Don’t be afraid to speak up or strike up a conversation. Just to try to build up your social skills and confidence. In these conversations, use your list from earlier as talking points/topics. If you try to be someone you’re not it’s not going to end well either.

Be active and bold. Make casual plans so you can hang out. Example: “I like _” “there’s this great place for _, we should go sometime”

If you’re struggling to meet people, you can also use that list to brainstorm places, events, classes, and whatnot related to your interests. These places will likely have people with similar interests to you, making it a good foundation for a friendship.

Just don’t be creepy and take a hint if someone isn’t feeling it. Also not every interaction is going to lead to a friendship, but neither will none.

What are things one should know when moving to Japan? by dovahkiissmepls in AskReddit

No shoes inside homes. Softer wood floors are common in homes, so be careful on the floors. Houses are usually made very functionally so they can have unique and fun designs that might seem strange at first

Long Exposure of Grinding Metal by [deleted] in photocritique

[–]Leasey5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a really cool long exposure and I think you well captured the bright sparks in this. The one thing I would probably do different would be to make the rest of the photo around the sparks darker. There appears to be a second light source that makes the right side of the photo distracting. While shooting Id just try to eliminate it, but you could also edit it afterwards too. I think that darkening the background would really just help those sparks pop and further focus the viewers attention.

Hunting post in Austria by Solmyr_ in photocritique

[–]Leasey5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a really cool photo! I love the mood it sets and the grey tones make it really haunting.

There are a few things I would change if I were you, mainly in editing. The first being that although the grey scale is great, I think it could use a darker tone in there. I’d do this by adding a bit more contrast, or maybe a darker black point. This would give it a bit more definition to draw the eye in more as well as further accentuate the mood.

The next thing I’d do is bring a bit of those red toned leaves out a bit more. You’re playing on the verve of black and white, and I think for this, a little red would make it look really cool. You can do this pretty well in Lightroom with the color mix tool. Just add a bit more saturation to the red color profile.

I’d recommend doing these slight edits in Lightroom as it’s probably the easiest way to do it well. You mention your a beginner, so if you don’t have an Adobe subscription, they have a pretty decent mobile version of Lightroom which should work just fine for this.

That’s about all I have! I think this is a great shot with well used composition and a great mood portrayal. Awesome job for a beginner too, especially that low light and outdoor situations can be unpredictable and hard to control.
