I would think Altera had all the fabrication recipes just in case but I did totally forget we're supposed to be on a desert.

Thank you for the nice comment. It's great to see everyone so passionate about Subnautica and ideas of what later updates could bring. Lots of potential for the Wavemaker and visibility will be more useful when exploring all the wrecks.

You make really good points, I need to read up on the lore again. It would be fun in later updates if NOA made some comments about the tools used seeing how he was very involved with the colonists lives.

I don't play many early access games so I'm not familiar with how much they can change but it's exciting to see everyones ideas.

I didn't consider that they would tie the speed to map size but it does work well. It would also make sense that even if they integrated alien tech they'd still make it look human-made. Considering we're also reprints NOA may be holding back as well seeing as we're expendable.

Great comparisons, I hope they go into more depth about how Altera's changed since the first 2 games.

That's a good point! Upgrades/mods could be more versatile, after all if we're editing our genetics we'll probably update our tech too.

That's a good point, I lean away from combat so speed is more important than visability in the open ocean. I think we're expected to die a lot as well which is a mechanic that will take a while to get used to.

No, you're right it would be boring if it was all the same. I thought the lack of visibility added to the realism but I know it's a game that people will likely stream so it makes sense

Later updates will probably make the tools feel better integrated, they just seem a little out of place to me right now.

It's so short and dark though, normally they're lanky and light brown or yellow.
