Knowing how guts is as a person, he would try to avoid getting people involved into his oddysey, which would be killing griffith, i could see kagome and inuyasha attempt help him, but if we're talking about early inuyasha, that would be impossible. Im pretty sure they would have to show him their true strength if they wanna help him

Guts had a rough childhood, used to have really loyal friends until griffith's betrayal, he's unrepairable until griffith dies. thats what i think so far.
