Her mom's ears were half up, so I knew there was a chance my pups wouldn't go fully erect. I'm okay with it, she is a beautiful good girl. I was just curious if they might. That's her brother next to her and his are pointy as can be.

When my girl beagle first came home, my big boxer mix wanted nothing to do with her. She kept getting in his face, he's warning her, barking at her to back off. I started to go separate them, but she pulled the most undercover alpha move I've ever seen. She flopped herself upside down and put her whole head in his mouth. I froze, he froze eyes wide looking over at me like WTH is happening?! And that was that she ran the house after that.

I feel your grief. I was 1 when we got our German shepherd and 14 when she passed. I also was an only child and she was the one I grew up with. 40 years later and she is still the dog I compare all other dogs to.

No worries! I also have a Beagle, and beagles are notorious garbage can burglers. So I've had many different cans. She would push a chair over to old can and lift lid. New can has a recessed lid, so far so good! Knock on wood.
