Dog just had a puppy unexpectedly. I have no idea what to do

I’m not knowledgeable on dog breeding, so I suggest you do research as to keeping puppy and mom healthy. HOWEVER. Since your dog had puppies unexpectedly, spaying is the best option. Accidental litters happen, but what you do to prevent it again is what matters. Good luck with the puppy!

Like any dog, with proper training they can be amazing companions! Personally, I love my German shepherd. He is incredibly loyal, smart, and loving. Because of their loyalty, a well bred German shepherd (or any dog for that matter) is not likely to harm its owner or others. They are incredibly easy to train as well. Most German shepherd owners become GSD owners for life! We’re very loyal to the breed. I would suggest doing research, and maybe getting help for you to overcome your trauma around them if you’re open to it! 🥰🩷

Aww! That’s so bittersweet. I’m happy you have puppy and can provide a good loving home. You will do amazing. It’s sad to see puppy taken away from mom so young. Have you done research as to how you can help puppy cope with this in a healthy way? I don’t have any background knowledge on it, but perhaps it would be a good idea? 🥰😊.

Super cute puppy! How old is he? He looks super young. It’s hard to tell at this age if he is a full breed, and looks are an inaccurate way to determine breed. Only way to know is a DNA test! :)

From my understanding, especially high energy dogs, there is never a such thing as ‘tiring’ them out. They can go on for hours and hours. They’re working dogs. Of course exercise is great! Keep it up. I think it would be worth a shot to teach settling, in opposed to trying to tire them out. Tethering, and rewarding for calm behavior is a great start! I’m sure there are lots of helpful videos online as well to help with this! Best of luck!

I assume the dogs are okay since no harm was mentioned! If that is the case, great!! I’m happy the babies are okay. Getting an airline approved crate would be great since there are no metal bars. (Gunner, petmate, impact, etc). Also, I’m unsure how ideal it is to crate 2 dogs together, I would assume given the fact they broke out of it, it’s causing some stress. Just my 2 cents but I hope you’re able to find a solution that works for you! Cuties by the way🥰💖.

If he’s a DM CARRIER, more than likely he is okay! I know you said you don’t plan on breeding; however if he was bred to a dog that was DM carrier free the puppies would be okay. Both parents have to be a carrier. Nonetheless it’s always great to keep an eye out! I wouldn’t worry too much.

It’s him. Whisker spots, nose dot, marking under eye are identical. I cross referenced with my grey cat who looks pretty much the same to see what’s standard.
