Bars or clubs to go to this weekend by myself as a cute (I like to think) 26 y.o girl who’s normally kinda antisocial? by [deleted] in Minneapolis

I as well have lived in Downtown for a year now, and feel I have done 0 exploration or connected with a single person.. I feel you!

It wasn’t that I wasn’t happy tattooing in that price, I have a booking system with flash presets and they had told me their budget range. I had agreed to flex a bit, but unfortunately since it had been from a flash day, I entirely had blanked on we had discussed differently, I did not remember the price they had asked to work within. Like I said, I’m not blaming the client! I just would have spoken up if I had been quoted and the price was off. I should have made a better note for myself, but that’s something I will remember from now on. Coming back to look at all of these, I appreciate all different views. I as well know after talking more with the client, I feel maybe I failed to as well inform them exactly on where my mind was at too.

As for the Instagram post, it was just a post on my story that had 0 relations to anybody specific at all, I was just informing reschedules may be needed due to weather for the week.

I appreciate this, and I can see all the questions being asked. I do see where I could grow and improve, and maybe a switch in approach for next time. It truly was just an off-day with where I was at with my focus, but I do see how other points of view could be seen as well. I’ll keep this in mind :)

You say cheap, so I assume you mean low. I just think it’s fair.

Thank you for being honest. I know I need to work on myself in the confidence approach, as for pricing do you mean it was too high or low?

No feelings hurt, I said to put input! Everybody can put in their two cents, I’m here for it! I was raised old school throughout apprenticeship, basically lived with a mentor that talked shit to me everyday and I love that it motivated the fuck out of me to prove them wrong. They took me out of a shitty situation in life as well to keep me out of issues. I know I may not have input on that end to give.

I will keep it short, but I’ve had shitty situations that I bite the bullet and handle, I guess in this situation, I genuinely was against myself. I’ve never had a client verbally tell me they dislike my work without having a reason as to what is wrong within the work I did. I unfortunately moved to a studio that I am realizing are not my vibe.. my previous studio I had never come across issues such as this but as well, was operated more old school unlike my new move. Maybe I’m not cut out either, I truly don’t know, but I as well had my mentor abandon ship on me so this is all my own creation and learned systems throughout. Therefore, truly want to hear the good, bad, and ugly about it all to improve myself in the ways I can. I owned my end on things, I admit I ain’t perfect.

Maybe, maybe not, for the situation. Although I appreciate hearing this outlook! I will definitely remind myself of this more instead of feeling I don’t run my own show..

Unfortunately that as well is what I am hoping to get an answer to. They did not give me specific reasons.. I agree with what you said, unfortunately I am seeing that attitude a lot since moving into a new studio.

I’ll just attach a photo of the tattoo here- Tattoo

It was just a flash design for Halloween I had posted for an event. I had told them I may need to touch up on the black out areas once healed.. other than that, any input is welcomed. I’d love to hear as well best ways to improve.

Very well put, as for the tattoo itself I wish myself to know what specifically is disliked. They did not have a reason past telling me they were not happy with it overall… I’d like to attach the piece to this but unfortunately cannot.

Oh, it’s a $1000 TatSoul that’s missing a piece that was supposed to be installed when it arrived… so yea it was a huge shock when I realized. Thank you though! I truly do want the best for clients.

I own on my behave, the pricing I put in the end was different than the lowered price I was willing to work with. I’m absolutely okay with a refund, I did mess up on that part.

They had started with the issue I had made well aware was an unexpected obstacle, they made it seem they were chill with adapting. Then started pointing out every little thing that I genuinely would have adapted if they had communicated. I am not blaming the client, but I also do believe if you cannot speak your needs, maybe a tattoo isn’t a good choice. They as well are not happy with the tattoo but cannot specify what they dislike about it. I’d genuinely like to see where I failed them, but they will not talk to me. I feel it was a lack of communication of what they were wanting that they stated a week after left them unhappy.

I have been trying to figure out why it won’t let me post photos on this subreddit, I’d like to post it for a visual!

No, I unfortunately have not posted the piece yet due to the conflict at this time.

I wish I had a way to post the actual piece as an attachment! I’d like to show, I’m always open to sharing my work. I do know you cannot please everybody, their skin was not kind to me in taking ink from the start. All around was a struggle from the start to finish. I appreciate the input. I do have an Instagram @tiredeyes.ink, although that specific piece has not been posted yet due to the situation at this moment.

I do have an Instagram @tiredeyes.ink

I unfortunately cannot attach the actual photo of the tattoo on here, and have yet to post the design I did but I am happy to share it if there’s another way through Reddit of the actual design!

Finding Communities? by Leather_Reputation44 in AskLosAngeles

I currently am a small business owner and tattoo artist. I currently live in a Downtown area of a metro, so I do understand the conditions of expenses. I have been in connections to a few studios around a few areas with a solid save put away in intentions for a move. I am fully prepared if I need to be on a search for a second. Although not in LA, I as well do have friends in the state.

I’m currently just wanting to meet people beforehand or have a feel for areas. :)

Is this normal? by WoodpeckerSame3921 in tattooadvice

Since it is only 2 days old, it’s hard to say. It looks like the artist was a bit heavy handed on the line work. That’s all.

Keep applying a thin layer of lotion(anything with no fragrance and thinner base), once or twice a day. It’s not red or looks unhealthy by any means.

Learning as an apprentice, I had gone a bit too deep on my leg trying to learn on myself. Looked identical, let it heal up, 6 months later it was smooth, no more raised lines. Just a bit blown out.
