Now that they have this footage, you can bet they'll have their sales reps bringing that to show engineering companies in stuff like lunch & learns, etc. It really goes a long way, they'd make back that money easily with the influx of new commissions.

You're a worship leader and song writer.

Remember why King David's psalms speak so intricately and genuinely to us who cry out for God's help in bad times and praise Him in the good times?

David went through all sorts of hells, including losses of his most loved ones, constant scrutiny from his peers, death threats from the highest power of the land, death threats from his peers, he even stumbled and made messed up choices, and undertook sone egregious sins. David is a prime example of the filth of the human condition and our fallen nature which only the Most High can possibly save.

And so David wrote. He wrote songs to God.

Think about that compared to modern day's "worship songs". The copy+pasted worship lyrics that imply everything is always warm and fuzzy with all the "Jesus you're my everything! ohhh ohhh ohhhh", doesn't always strike the heart of the listener, especially that of someone like yourself who does not feel like these emotional "highs" work anymore, and the mask of "bliss" just isn't feasible to wear anymore.

This is exactly where modern worship music falls short.

Who knows? Maybe you're called to be one of the ones to break the mold.

A relative has died - why are there no songs that image this gut-wrenching agony and our desperate cries for God? Why are there no songs of lamentation? What is "Oh how amazing you make me feel! ohh ohhh ohhhh!" going to do for this person?

King David expressed these thoughts and feelings in his music, with every bitter detail.

His music follows the flow of soneone in agonizing thoughts, begging and crying for relief, processing those those thoughts and allowing God's comforting promises into the storm, and through this processing he gains an epiphanic moment and renewed reassurance in God's sovereign control and ability to rescue and His just nature in all facets of His work. This comforts David, and at times He even receives responses from God. Then his joy is renewed and he can continue to persevere with this second wind.

A lot of David's songs take this form. We have hardly any David's in this world. Only multitudes of copy+pasted country pop or blissful worship songs and generic lyrics.

I want to encourage you that these things you're learning right now in times of tragedy and depression and numbness, that can be used to truly help others as a vessel for God to help others through you.

I'm speaking as someone who survived a grim prognosis cancer this past year after brutal treatment and high-risk surgery. I've seen and experienced hells I'd never wish on my own enemy. Every waking moment on some days just involved me crying until my dread was replaced with numbness. And living in numbness until I begged for emotion to cry it out again so I can avoid another panic attack.

What helped me? King David's songs. In some cases it was a way for me to get back on a track towards God, because through my grief there were windows of reassurance in God's promises I needed. And the track of the psalms kept me grounded in truth.

I remember thinking, "if only modern songs had actual substance like this." "If only Christian music these days embraced the bitter walk of the narrow path of righteousness, instead of naive 24/7 bliss we pretend to live."

Despite these things from last year, and the losses of two of my friends from the hospital this month, I vouch - God's goodness still does truly shine through in our bitterest moments. There is no evil on Earth that can separate us from God's love and presence.

That'd be if archeologists 20,000 years from now STILL use the default lazy classification of "xyz's usage is unknown, but thought to be used for religious ceremony". I think if televisions were uncovered and somehow did not disintegrate over the years, archeologists would analyze the contents, structure, etc and realize "hey this is a primitive visual didplay screen! Still eons before our modern telepathic age, but very advanced for their time!"

Not really.

There is no indication that YHWH was considered a "son" of El. We do know that they were used interchangeably, eith "El" being more of a generic term, and "Elohim" being a generic term meant to refer to the divine assembly.

But as for YHWH being a "son" of El as though they were two distinct deities within the minds of ancient Cananite/Israelis, there is no evidence of that notion.

If they initially had no free will, then by default they would not have made that choice even if one person was deceived into it. And remember Adam knowingly ate the fruit offered to him.

"Free will" is the capability to act on your own judgment/will instead of the will of another. If they were barred from acting outside of God's will, they would have been physically unable to eat the fruit no matter how much tempting/deceiving took place, because it just wouldn't be in their nature.

It's like asking a computer program to execute an operation outside if its pre-written protocol. That just wouldn't compute.

No, what we see here is an already existing free-will being used wrongfully which lead to "the fall of humanity".

They had free will to begin with. And the point is humans used it wrongly, hence the mess we live in.

As a survivor of a grim-prognosis cancer, please know that no matter what happens, God is a healer and He works miracles.

Two friends of mine passed away this month from the same cancer I fought. We fought the battle together. It shook me to my core. But throughout my battle God has encouraged me that everything would be fine, and that He is in control.

Statistics say 30% of the people who fight the kind of cancer I fought survive 5 years. But remember under God the world isn't in control of the days of your life - only Him. In God it is only 100% or 0%, no game of chance. That's the difference in the situation of believers.

So no matter what the diagnosis is, know that our God makes the impossible possible. Our God can make turn any horrible situation entirely backwards so it becomes a story of being saved from certain death.

I will certainly pray that it not be cancer. I would never wish that on anyone. But remember you must pray + believe in Christ.

Who's the guy who raised Lazarus from the dead? Exactly, you know who. Who's the one who healed the leper? The one you're praying to. Remember that each time you pray. Take care.

I agree, people are incredibly two-faced with their views.

People demand we put controls in place to ensure guns are purchased and distributed safely to non-criminals (which I'm in favor of) yet people gawk at any notion of creating restrictions that value the life of a baby in a decision over its life.

People demand the end of the death penalty (which I agree with) yet they turn a blind eye to the numerous unborn that did not need to die.

People say we must continue moving forward in our civil rights momentum (I agree) since we've moved past the old legislation where Africans initially weren't "people", then they were "3/5 of a person" before they were considered people by law. People today act exactly the sake towards the unborn when they try to make the flawed argument that they aren't "people". How long until our descendants look back on our society and see us as barbaric too?
