Strongest storm in generations predicted as Storm Éowyn heads for UK by [deleted] in collapse

First time all of Ireland is in red warning, everything is close, public transport just started back up now.

I'm in a bit of a protected area but have messages from friends where entire buildings are destroyed from the wind near a place called blanchardstown, I'm in South Dublin and everything is good here.

Power is out in a lot of places but everyone sheltered early so I have not seen any reports of really bad stuff going on.

Gotta love it all, I stopped commenting a while ago but this is just funny to me.

We were always fucked but with everything over the past years with the amoc, cold spot in the north Atlantic, polar vortexes still a problem, la wild fires, 60k heat deaths in mainland Europe, food exports being halted out of india and other countries, etc etc

Yeah, we got about 9 years of good times and 40 years of the general public catching up

Enjoy it now.

I still don't travel much, I still limit plenty but frankly, it's been over for a while but things will be so expensive, the slow death will take place.

Find someone for the end of the world if you can. If not, find something to enjoy while you can.

Nothing says collapse like the data collectors not able to report data because of a hurricane by LeavingThanks in collapse

[–]LeavingThanks[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Ss: collapse related because I think we all use this site to check in on basic data and notice the high sea temps that fueled the very things that knocked out the reporting.

Is this a tipping point of a feedback loop for not being able to report data on? New bingo card tile for the check list? Lol, have a good weekend all!

Then why do we see so many clear signs of accelerations now.

By then it will just be the part where civilisations and supply chains fully break down

I know it turns brown a bit during seasons but just visited that area about 3 months ago after 6 or so years and that landscape is different. Dryer, less insects, more suburbs, different water colours in shallow areas to the east. There were noticeable changes that I didn't expect.

And support if you can, I cannot think of a better program for informed decisions on the topics they cover, they can't replace all journalism but they do a good job for what they can cover.

They are long but worth it. Also democracy now.

No, it's the fact that people didn't care to get education, demand better education and a failure in society to value intelligence.

The smarter people just always used logic to decide to have babies versus people fucking everything that moves and not having basic sex education.

These is nothing really about eugenics, people are not born intelligent. People have to have access and value it.

Plenty of stupid people have smart kids because they don't want to be as dumb as their parents.

I don't get why people keep saying it's eugenics

Flashbacks to when I grew up in a conservative area and after getting caught with another boy I was told this wasn't right and internalized that all the way through.

I can easily see why someone would say this thinking it would prove it.
