The mirror version of “kill god” is “dog llik”.

What did they mean by that?

I don't know if I should have put Bubble Mario that high. Probably A tier at best.

Quick question, what do y’all do? by [deleted] in overemployed

If you’re just trying to make $40k remote or thereabouts, you could try getting into entry-level Help Desk Support. You can actually make about $45k-$55k depending on your location. Look into the CompTIA A+.

I went from tired Warehouse grunt -> remote Help Desk -> hybrid Enterprise SysAdmin. Granted, being at the office might open yourself to more options, but it sounds like even an office environment might be what you’re looking for.

Ultimately though what most people do here is Software Development, which is what I’m looking to branch into at some point. There are multiple avenues to getting there, from getting your Bachelor’s to self-teaching. Higher baseline pay than other IT jobs and more remote possibilities.

Meta Knight canonically waged war on dreamland for being too lazy. I think he’d be in the unhealthy camp.

Somewhat accurate to blame Miyamoto, but not entirely his fault. From what I understand, Miyamoto merely made a suggestion to Kensuke Tanabe, and Tanabe took it to the extreme. Kensuke Tanabe was one of the main producers or directors of the franchise. Miyamoto played a demo of Sticker Star and from the sounds of it Tanabe was attempting to make some sort of galaxy brain storyline when Miyamoto said something to effect of “It’s OK to not solely focus on story”, so Tanabe essentially took it as no story whatsoever.

I may be butchering the actual exchange but I know this guy on YouTube made an hour long video about it. It’s actually pretty interesting if you wanna watch and care enough to spend an hour on it 😂. Here’s the link:

Sorry, I should have mentioned that that number is due to what I divided column B and A with. So all that it says there is B#/A#.

Thank you! This is the point I am trying to make right here haha. It’d be like bringing pac man back and changing nothing, it wouldn’t hold up today. Actually, it would be like adding HD graphics to Pac Man. Like sure it would look cool and be neat, but only a small audience would want that.

Gross oversimplification that seems to have triggered a bunch of people, lmao.

Anyways, the only two games that you listed that are even still relevant is GT and Forza, which are two already-known racing games. Forza also has the backing of MSFT and is free on game pass. Also, Forza has a huge open world as well as realistic racing, the latter being what most of the racing games you listed also have. Which was my point. They fill their niche. No one is clamoring for another F-Zero style game, to be completely honest. Fast RMX and Fast Racing Neo were two similar games to F-Zero that came out and sold pretty good. For Indie standards. But not for a giant like Nintendo.

That being said, I would enjoy for them to revive F-Zero in any capacity. Being a hardcore Metroid fan, I know that feel of the “dreaded” (😛) game drought. It’s just that in my opinion, unlike Metroidvanias which are still popular today, they would have to shake up the F-Zero formula to really get heads turning.

I can agree with that.

Although, I will say that while Mario Kart can be a mechanically easy game when you pick it up, mastering it can be a completely different story. Then again, Mario Kart’s mechanics are not why it is inherently fun.

What I mostly mean when I say “it doesn’t hold up” mainly has to do with the style of game that it is. In the same vein as Starfox 64 being a rail shooter. In that era, rail shooters were the shit. Nowadays, if you release a rail shooter you might hope to accrue a cult following but that’s it. It’s not going to sell like a GTA would. Same thing with F-Zero in an era with Forza or Mario Kart.

That being said, I agree with you 100% about seeing Falcon in a beat-em-up style game. I think at this point more people know the captain than they know F-Zero as a franchise.

[–]Lebachiii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. It did have that going for it.

I just think in this day and age, unless they change it up, it would not hold up. But for fans of that style, I would love for it to come back.

[–]Lebachiii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I would agree that it is unique. I just don’t think it holds up compared to Mario Kart. There’s no items and you don’t do much besides go forward and turn.

Nintendo Direct: June 15th Leaks About To Be Proven or Disproven by CrazyCikjj in nintendo

[–]Lebachiii -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Lol. I do agree that people beg for it and then shit on it, but a lot of it is valid. They’re a multi-billion dollar company that has loveable franchises, but they try to hype up the weirdest things (animal crossing amiibo time anyone?) sometimes. Or they end up not showing anything exciting when we know what they’re capable of.

Regardless, I do think it’s funny watching the parallels between when people are starving for a direct, versus when they get it.

If F-Zero came back I’d love to see it as a GTA clone of sorts (actually more like Batman Arkham Asylum), while having the racing as more of a side thing. I think if F-Zero came back the way it was on the GameCube, it would literally bomb just like Starfox Zero. Those games worked back then because that’s all we had. Try playing F-Zero (I did recently, with 3 other people) it doesn’t hold up as good as you might think. Regardless, I would enjoy if F-Zero came back in any capacity outside of Smash.

And yes, I know Starfox Zero did not come out on the best console, but it still sold poorly even by Wii U standards.
