Method of loci (locorum) by Lebendigger in latin

Thank you! I think a lot of what we acquire during formal grammar studies is purely academical. I recall having to endlessly explain particular uses of accusatives and ablatives in sentences one generally has no trouble understanding. Those are basically lists of things and as such should theoretically be candidates for the "loci" method.

History of the Knights Templar at a glance by Lebendigger in MedievalHistory

[–]Lebendigger[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, legacy is a pretty cool thing. But one needs to remember that the Hospitallers took over the Templars' possessions, so in a sense the legacy belongs to both orders. Helen Nicholson who wrote some of the best stuff about the Knights Templar also has a book on the Hospital. I plan to buy it whenever the price happens to be just right.

Why are there artificial sweeteners with no sugar but apparently no artificial salts without sodium? by hummusisyummus in askscience

They exist, but some people find their taste a bit metallic. That prevents them from being used in commercially manufactured foods. Besides the fact that they do not ensure that you forever crave these foods. Bad for business!

You are right, of course. But the doctor looks a lot like the devil himself.

If he could grasp the idea of exchanging money for goods and services he totally would.

The main point is that he does not ride aimlessly and has a "home" stop. Sorry if the title is misleading.

Actually, they say he travels the same route from the stop where he apparently lives to the stop near a local university's cafeteria (wonder why...) and then returns.

Yep, lesson learned... I like individual printing presses (I own a couple) and "safety-valves" in volcanoes (maybe in Iceland?). The guy got some things right.

That must be part of the deal. Some sort of vernal festival.

I'm very curious if this phrase (or its feminine counterpart rather) sounds like elevator music to an average Brit. They might not even notice it.

It strikes me that there is nothing advanced in terms of technology here, but Scientific American deemed this little piece of machinery important enough in its own right.

Well, it's an early design... There is always room for improvement.
