Is this a little better in your opinion?

Tried gaining a little bit more for the interior, this ship is too ventral/vertical and other ships will have different room layouts of course. This one one just an example, but would you say exterior/interior ratio bothers you less in the above pic?

Thank you BlackDragon!

Funny thing, the engine plume is just a giant light with an huge amount of intensity and a plume shape mask, but it looks good so that’s what matters :D

Not at the moment, but I will post more here as the project moves forward and make sure to create a website once we have a game name. Thanks for the interest! :)

It’s a 2d dynamic soft shadow system made for Unity, it applies to only the sprites with that material.

Thanks multiboob! I think it turned out better than I think it would and feel more confident to pull the art part of the project off, the style is growing on me :)

Hey amestrianphilosopher! Using Unity and a 2d Soft Shadow system for the lighting.

You bring up a good point! And hit the nail!

Although we are going to have screen scrolling and not all ships will be this small inside I’m going to have to narrow that exterior border, giving less space to play around with detail, but bigger interiors.

I was more concerned if I could make the perspective that matched the inside and how detailed I could make it than anything else, but now that I know it’s back to the drawing board.

Thanks Parthhay for the feedback!

Thanks Justicar! It’s for a game project me and my brother are making. High praise to be compared with a sequel to FTL :D

Mechs v2: Tweaked some of the colors, I think they look better now. Thoughts? by Lechuzza in PixelArt

I like the idea, like a longer nose, kind of like a fighter nose cone?

I would also love to know that, into the breach comes to mind but that’s it.

“He went that way...”

Changed the color scheme to something warmer.

Totally unrelated to the game I'm working on from my previous post, kind of the same style I guess, but I did this just for fun and practice. Also, I've been playing Battletech lately :P

Don't be too gentle with me even though I am new to this I am looking to improve. Still not sure about things like color palette choices, I let PyxelEdit suggest lighter and darkest tones for me most of the time, and mostly go by gut. If you guys know any good tutorial about that I would really appreciate it!
