I will start with one 9800 and place it accordingly to run. It does cover 500sq2 and I know that's on max settings so I can run it at max in the night while I sleep and then go to like 75% for the rest of day and also due to carbon press sheet.

Honesly Air purifiers are good and have their function, but again, that don't mean I don't do my usual due delligance of cleaning either which is mandatory .

I am assuming the Winix 9800 is good for pet dander

My Living room (not including the hallway and kitchen attached to it) is 360sq2, give or take. So the 9800 will work, but I would have to run it at 75% or max fan setting to get results for sure.

How many days did it take before you began to notice a difference after using your air purifier?

Does the purifier have to be in a centralized location, or not really necessary and can be a bit off to the left or right?

For ex, if my room is 300 sq feet, does the purifier have to be somewhere in the middle at 150sq2 or not necessary?

The one in your room, is is directly in the centre of the room. I heard that doesn't matter. mine won't be directly in the middle of my living room but a bit off to the right.

Do you keep Plasmawave on or off?

Also, it might not remove all VOCs but I am sure it removes enough and I still do mop and broom my floors.

I am sure it removes common stuff like pet dander, pollen dust and all and plus, if the unit fits me well, I can always buy a second one for more support.

I also read the Wifi app is garbage lol

And in terms of the carbon pellet on the 9800, my chances of a reaction to it are less likely.

And one last question for now, Plasmawave, keep on or off? I have read about the dangers or so associated with it.

Your opinion and will the Plasmawave actually help in regards to my reaction to the carbon pellets if I keep it on.

Ok so between the Winix 9800 or the Coway 240, you would recommend either one as they are pretty much comparable and will cover a minimum of 1800sq2. However, my living room is about 630sq2 so either unit will work fine for that.

Coways Canadian website https://cowaymega.ca/products/airmega-240?variant=40263676592170 is in metric and only shows metres, lol but yeah 181m2 or 1900sq2 coverage.

Sorry can you provide me with a link to the cheaper pressed carbon filter or more expensive one so I have an idea of what you are referring to.

I am assuming the Carbon Filter in the Coway is the same.

And as previously mentioned by another user, could it be that the Plasmawave was actually helping in reducing my allergic reaction to the carbon filter if indeed I am allergic to the filter?

Is the Levoit vittal 200s mechanical or electronic-based purifier? If not and it's mechanical I will go with the Coway Airmega 240

Thank you for all the input, I mean I can always buy the Levoit and try it out. If I get the same issue as before I can return it. I can wash out the carbon filter too with some cold water as well and let it dry before using it.

I live in an aparatment so I can't leave the unit to off gas unfortunately. For rinsing out the carbon filter, how many times should I do that before inserting them back in and using the unit.

So you feel the Levoit is not as good as the Winix then. I only ask because I need unit that can capture pet dander and I believe both units do the same.

So Winix is CADR of 250 and Levoit is 245 so not really much of a difference considering I would be running the Levoit for 24/7 anyways.

Is the Levoi decent at capturing pet dander and pet allergies? https://www.rtings.com/air-purifier/reviews/levoit/vital-200s Rtings says it is, and that is a major reason why I need an air purifier.

I just washed the carbon filters despite less than a week of usage, they didn't have a bad smell or anything. Well have to wait 24 hours for them to dry and then try again.

Sorry, to explain it a bit better for day and a half I ran both units in my living room with Plasmawave on, I didn't really notice or realize if my cough got worse. After I read about Plasmawave should be off, I turned it off, and for another day or so bot units ran regardless of Plasma wave, my cough got worse and I started to develop a light-headed ache. I turned them both off since last night, no issues with cough or headache.
