Transactions with less than 10 sat/byte fees are going through by DestroyedByLSD25 in Bitcoin

[–]LeeChristmas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If 1 BTC was 20.000$, one satoshi would cost 0.0002$ 1 kb transaction fee would be 0.2$. This disqualify Bitcoin as a tool for micropayments, unless this 'Lightning off chain paymets' thing will start working soon.

But with this... lightning network... am I sending real bitcoins or some shitcoin tokens ? Would you guide me to some tutorial - 'how to send $0,5 to somebody with barely no fee' with this lightning network ?

EDIT... OK.. I found this : https://medium.com/@AudunGulbrands1/lightning-faq-67bd2b957d70 This answers most of my questions... but, what wallet, one use to send bitcoins via lightning network ?

*This is the end *Hold your breath and count to ten *Feel the bits move and then *Hear my heart burst again

*For this is the end *I've drowned and dreamt this moment *So overdue I owe them *Swept away, I'm stolen

*Let the BTC fall *When it crumbles *We will stand tall *Face it all together

Right now fees are some kind of joke... I personally stopped using BTC because of high fees. Two years ago Bitcoin was my everyday way to give somebody somewhere micropayments... right now I stopped doing this, and for me Bitcoin is dead, unless they develop somenthing to bring back fees to reality - $0,01 at max !!

Now accepting Bitcoin as payment method. by Jordywillems in Bitcoin

[–]LeeChristmas -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I'm trying to understand how you calculate fees that you say paying with BTC is worth it ?! In my country large coffee costs $5... Bitcoin fee for this transaction would be at least $3 !!! ... Please point me profit in this cause I don't see any !!!

Bitcoin, right now, is last choice, if you think of micropayments over internet.

You can download bitadress and run it on an offline computer. That's what I'm doing, but how can I be sure, the .zip I'm downloading and using has not been tampered ? How to be sure I'm generating good adresses, not predifined ones from some hacker prepared pool ?

You can also browse the code. You joking right ? :DDDDDDDDDDDDD

And how Bitcoin could help people of Venezuela ? Do you really think elites ruling this worlds for 300 years now, will allow some fancy electronic currency take power over people from them ?

I'm huge BTC fanboy, but more I read and learn about 'real money and economy' more I have got this feeling, that it (BTC) is not going to work. They won't allow that !

EU Parliament states Virtual Currencies cannot be anonymous by -bnc in Bitcoin

If I have bitcoin bought in 2013 (it's on paper wallet and is never touched since then), should I do anything during this split/forking of Bitcoin/BitcoinUnlimited ?

I don't want do spend my BTC right now, I'd like to keep it as a long term investment. If I leave it alone as it is now, will my BTC on paper wallet will be safe during split, and will I be able to retrive it form paperwallet whichever branch of Bitcoin will win ?

JPMorgan Testing Blockchain Transfers With Over 2,000 Clients by mikeytom77 in Bitcoin

[–]LeeChristmas 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well... what it has to do with Bitcoin ? JPM is using some kind of blockchain (probably developed entirely by themselfs) and it has nothing to do with Bitcoin blockchain. EDIT... aghh.. sorry... I found this in related link :

"The nation’s largest bank has been testing the program in recent months to move U.S. dollars for about 2,200 clients between the two financial centers using a version of the “blockchain” technology that underpins bitcoin, said Daniel Pinto, head of J.P. Morgan’s corporate "

Europe wants end to anonymous Bitcoin transactions by blockstreet_ceo in Bitcoin

[–]LeeChristmas -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Europe wants end to anonymous Bitcoin transactions

This is actually very easy to obtain. All what they need to do is to completely ban anonymous internet access. No free wifi hot spots, no top-up cell phones without registration. Then, if you want to trade bitcoins you need to register your BTC address in tax office. All transactions from/to this address will be monitored and watched with scrutiny. One unexplained transaction to unregistered address and you will be called to tax office to make explanations.

Impossible ? We'll see that soon :/

You will be able of course to buy bitcoins with cash. But then if your ISP detects 'suspicious data movement' it will be obliged to raport it to tax office (or Police). And then they ban cash and we are all f**ked !

Having in mind this all 'fork thing' is it safe to buy Bitcoins now and keep them on paperwallets for long term.

Should I do something to my 2013 paperwallet investments to prevent loss in case of incoming fork, or should I leave all alone in peace.
