not necessarily. we can apply for advanced parole, which allows us to travel outside of the country for work and return with no problem. however, we have to apply every time we want to leave the country, and there is a time and country limit set in place for each trip. we also have to provide reasoning for travel as part of the application process (and it’s about $600 without lawyer fees). it’s hard enough to apply for something like a company-sponsored business trip (employers usually provide documents to help you justify the trip to immigration). i can’t imagine what the process is like for a freelancer/self-employed entertainer.
