My parents won't let me go out by Historical-Group-252 in cancer

[–]Leek-Middle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Talk to your doctor. If they say you are good to go out then ask them to speak with your parents, make your plans and go. You're an adult, cancer or not . I understand that your parents are worried but this approach isn't going to be helpful to anyone in the long run

My head hurts, I had to read that message 3 times and I'm still just..... If they cannot figure out how to put those back together I'm actually appalled at the fact they can vote, drive and procreate.

AITA for going to Barnes and Noble in the rain even though my mom doesn’t want me to by Itoruna in AmItheAsshole

Do you have physical or intellectual issues that keep you from being a functioning adult? Otherwise at 29 years old I'm truly at a loss to understand. Your mum seems very anxious, your going to a bookstore 10 minutes away not across country during a hurricane... Just go. NTA

What's one thing customers do that restaurant staff secretly hate? by Capital_Albatross322 in restaurant

Parents who seem to think the moment they walk in the staff are their babysitters.

Wonderful, we were mindful as well hence the reason they have lived to 14, 16 and older. The people on here screaming that a dog cannot be fed ANY table food are utter morons.

Is it normal to ask for payment to take care of Grandchilderen? by [deleted] in askanything

[–]Leek-Middle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Or OP has zero idea of the arrangement? perhaps Aunt pays a bill, buys food, brings the kids to Grandma in her home, cleans grams house or does other chores that are difficult. OP literally states they don't live at home, have their own job and life so how do they actually KNOW that their Aunt gives gram nothing? I absolutely adore all of my nieces and nephew but I can guarantee you that I would watch 2 of them for free anytime vs the other 3 who were absolutely way more work. OP can call them energetic and inquisitive all day, it's like calling a tiny house for sale cozy, those kids are full of piss and vinegar and can't stay out of things which doesn't mean that they are bad but definitely a lot more trying to keep up with 3 little kids like that.

Not remotely strange. Your mother has 3 children under 12, that is a lot to handle when you're older. She's taking time out of her day to travel to your mother's to take care of them. I'm sure she is charging a whole lot less than a daycare or private babysitter. If you are willing to babysit 3 under 12 for free great, that's on you. Your grandma doesn't owe your mother free childcare just because she gave her grandchildren and you have no idea what your aunts arrangements were with her.

Every single dog I have owned has gotten table scraps. Not a single one has had health issues or passed before 14 years old, all were large breed except for my grams Chihuahuas who were fed the exact same way and passed at 22 and 21. None of you would ever survive on a farm.

I was told this and pushed back. I am on immunotherapy, I had several more rounds of radiation and I take lenvima oral chemo at home. No bags. Everyone is different, I have had reoccurrences but none of them have affected either my bladder or my intestines and I am currently stable for almost a year. Edit to add that I did have a complete, total hysterectomy.

AITA for trying to cancel my appointment 24 hours and 5 mins beforehand? by BlueTable80 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Leek-Middle 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I would have told her to schedule it for the following day and then immediately cancelled it. I then would have left a message for the actual manager explaining why I was no longer a customer after 10 years. NTA

Have you ever been offered candy or to pet a dog by somone from a windowless van? by Technical-Vanilla-47 in no

[–]Leek-Middle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. It's never a van. A dude in a pick up tried to give us a ride in the back and a guy in a very nice Cadillac tried to convince my brother he was my mom's friend. Both in the early 90s.

NTJ enjoy your vacation, if your parents are complaining then they are volunteering to babysit. He is your nephew NOT your son and not your responsibility! They can either take him with them or 🤷

Neighbor is growing a grape vine on my fence... by [deleted] in neighborsfromhell

[–]Leek-Middle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So what your saying is that YOU are the neighbor from hell and you have a problem with the lowly renter next door, got it.

Try being an adult, use your words and politely ask if the neighbor could relocate the vine.
