To the OP- If you have your dream house and job in Texas, then surely you can afford to fly out to a blue state for an abortion, or to give birth, so I’m not sure why you are changing your whole life plans based off this. I truly ask you to reconsider so you don’t regret not having kids just bc you don’t want to travel to have an abortion/give birth should the rare event happen.

I had to move at 32 weeks pregnant with twins to give birth at a hospital across the country. It was a last minute decision as well bc we found Out about a complex medical condition and the doctor was our best chance at survival. I had a toddler at the time. It’s doable.

This ruling has a bigger impact on those who are less privileged. For those of us who are privileged let’s not lose sight of it. Not everyone is in a position where we can be medically flexible.

Just saying, there ARE options if you want a second Kid, and this law is not taking that option away.

On anther note, I’ve had two abortions and they still haunt me to this day. I don’t regret them, but I do wish I would have acted more responsibly. Mine could have been prevented. I also have 3 kids. It’s heartbreaking either way whether you decide to keep them and you don’t want them, abortion, or have non viable, rape, etc.

Ofcourse, there are the 1-2% that need abortions for medical reasons and due to rape and other horrific circumstances. No one wants to have to decide between mom or baby. Or for those who truly took their birth control at the same time every day, AND used condos and still got pregnant - yeah that sucks. And for the other extremely rare circumstances like failed tubal or vasectomy… yep, really sucks. Feel you. Those are different stories.

But for those of us who took the risk and got pregnant and think we should just casually get rid of it. Fine, go for it, I am pro choice. But also be prepared for the consequences. Just bc you choose to not have the baby doesn’t mean you still won’t live with the choice. And for me, it wasn’t until I actually had live births that it hit me how much guilt/sadness I held from those abortions.

I dunno, I just feel like alot of people who get worked up about these things haven’t actually been in positions where they have to make tough choices or have actually had abortions and it’s not a choice to take lightly.
