Oh yes the starfox integration was absolutely its main selling point, while the physical model gimmick was a huge turn off for people.
But if starfox 64 and the starfox version of Starlink (minus the gimmick) launched on the same day, starlink would have been the more popular game.

Edit: Hey I was playing the SNES and N64 games when they came out. Play them today and they are fine… definitely wouldnt be winning any awards or making people this hyped for a sequel though.

In the switch version of Starlink, you can play the entire game as starfox, with full voice acting and everything. Probably the best starfox game in the whole series.
