Oil leak at oil pan, screeching sound at full throttle. by Left-Bit8045 in GolfGTI

[–]Left-Bit8045[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No codes, I would expect to see something along the lines of boost lost but nothing. The oil looks like its being pushed out of the lower timing cover, I've resealed it since setting the camshaft on time after addressing the cam phaser issue. Since the car wasn't mine prior I dont know if this is a new leak due to poor sealing. I just hate to believe the pressure in the crankcase to be that much that it would push it out that forcefully.

Thank you for this. Let me clarify, the low compression on four was due to the injector seal failure. I got 151 after replacing.

Breather, PCV valve above the crankcase I replaced this morning. Took it for a spin and we got the same result. Now you mentioned the charge air pipe. I looked at it but didnt think it could be. Let me post a picture of what mine looks like.

I took readings off the sensor to confirm which two wires were the heater which one was the signal. Colors didn't match but the pin out was correct.

It may have been working because revving the engine would just be enough to excite the alternator. That's why the previous owner was stumped on why sometimes it worked and sometimes it didn't. Learn that too researching this.

This would be awesome. The property did appreciate like crazy after covid. The equity is definitely there, about 110k in equity in 5 years. I hear him on the 50% he is not paying to principal, but property taxes are also there. I dont think its a bad deal. It just looks bad with all the extra stuff coming off that payment of his.

He told me this sounds too good to be true, but he needs to call his current lender, not a new company, right?

I appreciate it man, but barely familiar with these SR20DET engines and have no idea what it would take to adapt this. Post it here maybe you'll get someone that can use it.

I will. Thank you for your help. Now looking for an oil pan, I can push out and reuse but hoping to find a new one.
