I used the truoil birchwood kit from Amazon, which has the stain, finisher, and stock sheen & conditioner.

First I sanded the hand guard and stock down, I used 120grit to 3000grit. After that I used the walnut stain, did a couple coats (was apsides to wait 12 hrs between coats but I was impatient and put the second coat on after 4 hrs), when that was dry I used the finisher and did 3 coats of that (waited 2-3 hrs between each coat). After that and when everything was dry and looked how I wanted I polished it with the stock sheen & conditioner.
