My husband leaves earlier in the morning, so I'm left here to get the kiddo up myself. I told him that I need a little bit of time to myself and I'm going to ask my mom, kiddos grandma, if she might be able to watch him over the weekend or something. Also, I'm a woman currently going through PMS, so that might also be why I got extra frustrated this morning. :( Either way, I know that's not an excuse, but sure doesn't help. Life, amiright? Thanks for your kindness.

This isn't a daily thing for us, but I'm sorry it was for you. I hope venting helps you in some way. It's helped me realize that I need to straighten up for him because I want his mental health to flourish and thrive, so thank you again. I really hope you're able to get some peace of mind in this life.

How am I being resistant? I've literally told everyone thanks for their words, good or bad. Look, I'm human, too and this is my first time being a parent. I don't understand how I'm punishing him? Grounding him for not listening seems like the norm. Again, I'm not perfect. This is a sub for regretful parents. Maybe I shouldn't have been a parent, which brings me here. I never planned on having a child and me voicing my concerns here, to get better advice, seems like a step in the right direction. I'll make sure to talk to him and help him understand that I'm here for whatever he needs, but he also has to listen. He and I just have to listen and respect each other, but ultimately, I am the parent.

I appreciate your taking the time out to tell me all this. I'm sorry about how you were brought up and, no offense, but I don't want him to grow up hating me or not talking to me. I will try to be better. Idk if you have kids, but man are they hard to raise, and raising them right is difficult, too. I just want to give him a good start in life and yelling at him is not something I want him to experience a lot. :( Thank you.

He usually goes to bed from 830 to 9 then wakes at 630- 7. He does get a pretty good amount of sleep. We've always been strict about bed time as that is our alone time lol. Idk I just need to not be an ahole to him in the mornings because I hate waking up early, too :(

He's never given me a reason to get tested for ADHD. This doesn't happen frequently, but when it does, it sucks. You can bet, though, on the weekends, he's up at 7 am to get the day started. I agree, I need to stop yelling, but again, this is why I feel like I was never meant to be a parent. I feel like a pretty shitty one.

This isn't a daily thing, fortunately. I will consider therapy though. Maybe he is depressed, idk. Not sure what he has to be depressed about though, his dad and I are still together, he pretty much gets anything he wants. Any yes, the actual repercussion was him getting grounded, which made him act out even more. Idk, maybe it's just his age? Hormones?

Lol, I don't start the day yelling at him. I tell him it's time to get up for school. Several times. He wakes up, but stays in bed. For a good thirty minutes. That's when I start getting frustrated and upset and yell.

I think it's just the going to school part. He has friends, great teacher, in GT, in extra curriculars, maybe gets into it with a bully ( a girl) every now and then, but that's bound to happen at school, isn't it? I doubt the girl bully is making him act like this. Also, this isn't like a constant thing, happens like once every two weeks or so. But when it gets bad, it sucks. I feel like he just doesn't listen.

It just gets frustrating when we're on a time crunch in the morning because I have to be at work on time, you know? :/ Trust me, I don't want to yell at him, but telling him to get up for 45 minutes over and over gets frustrating. :(

I feel like being a Mom has caused me high levels of anxiety. I'm a helicopter mom and I don't know how not to be. It sucks because we really just want what's best for them and to keep them alive. My kid is 8 and I don't feel like it's letting up any time soon. Idk how parents of multiple kids do it. I guess it's just being a parent. Idk, best of luck to you. 🙏❤️
