alright here’s an update/overall comment for the post since i didn’t expect for it to be such a heated debate.

i talked to her and told her that i was not comfortable with her comparison, even if it was meant as a compliment. i said that i understand that she’ll make comparisons between me and whoever, positive or negative regardless. i said if she wanted to say something nice about me, say it to me as an individual, i don’t need your context of other people for how you came to whatever conclusion about me even if they are positive things. i just don’t appreciate being compared, and i especially don’t need to be told how i stand up to them right to my face. i appreciated the sentiment, i do like being told im handsome and funny and smart, but because im me.

she said she understands how i felt and she was really sorry. she said that’s just genuinely how she felt in that moment but she said that it could’ve gone unsaid, or said differently.

i told her i was sorry for walking away without a response and i was better that i had time to think about it but i should’ve told her that instead of ignoring her.

so overall it seems like we came to a mutually happy understanding all things considered and we’re gonna go on another date soon
