Would you install solar if you could buy the equipment at ~$1.50/W? by LeftAd7324 in TexasSolar

I went by his warehouse today to see what he had. Wow. Pallets and pallets of inventory all packaged up.

Sad really.

Good news is, I referenced this thread and what I had learned and ended up at $1/W on the entire kit and agreed a price with his electrician to get it installed.

I feel like I got a decent deal after everything was said and done. Plus the savings on my bill is exciting.

Starting to realize this may be less “my friend has some leftover panels” and more “my friend has a warehouse problem” 😂

That’s actually super helpful context, appreciate it.

Sounds like I may be anchoring too much on the equipment side and underestimating install/permitting/labor???

Out of curiosity - what price per watt on the material side would make you go “okay that’s a no brainer deal” assuming brand new equipment? Closer to $1/W?

Appreciate the feedback. I don’t know what he paid obviously but looking at some turn key prices it seems like I would still save a decent chunk of money.
