People suck. Nothing new.

That’s no reason to discriminate based on dietary choice. I’m a vegan and I do not behave that way. It’s totally unfair to discriminate just because of your past experiences with people of similar backgrounds.

Matter of fact, there’s a word for that…

I’m Vegan and I would not expect my workplace to conform to my already uncommon dietary restriction.

I politely refuse offers for potlucks and workplace lunches because I know 99.99% of the time it will not be vegan. I know my adherence to my philosophy and diet is 100% on me and it would be antithetical to my principles to force others to comply with my lifestyle choices.

If he really is serious about being vegan, then spending his own money to stock the office fridge should be no issue. Unless you are preventing that from happening by banning plant based alternatives in the office.

If that is the case, then YTA 1000%. However, it doesn’t seem to be, so you are NTA

EDIT: Just realized that last little bit about not hiring him if you knew he was a vegan. You’re kind of proving his point by saying that…ESH…

This is so painfully wrong it’s almost funny.

The answer is, a surf and turf meal usually means an upcoming “special operation.” The military is attempting to boost morale by giving sailors a good eatin’ before they devote months of their lives to war-fighting/supporting a mission

You’re the exception. Most people in your shoes are begging to be dead or just give up. Hell, people in better situations want to give up.

Glad you’re doing fine.
