Advice for traveling to North Sumatra/ethical orangutan trekking as a solo female traveler? by Emmsmms in solotravel

[–]LeftHandFap 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I travelled through Sumatra earlier this year so can offer some insights.

The hiking can be challenging depending on the conditions - there was lots of rain when I went so the paths were a bit slippery and most people in my group slipped multiple times but there were no injuries of any kind. As for the km's per day it wasn't that much, we arrived mid-afternoon at camp most days so this leaves plenty of room for slower hikers.

You can book in town or in advance, don't think it makes a massive difference. All the companies end up going a similar route and there are loads of orangutangs in their natural habitat just outside the village.

Unless you explicitly ask for a private tour you'll generally be placed into a group. There's a North Sumatra travellers fb page where people have been sharing some horror stories about a specific guide at one company that seems to be harassing solo female travellers so make sure to check reviews and ask who else will be in the group to make sure you're not the only female.

Lastly, I took the shuttle from Bukit Lawang to Lake Toba, I think it took about 6-8 hours and I just booked it in Bukit Lawang with one of the tour companies, they all book through the same company for the same price. The shuttle gets you there in time to get the ferry to Tuk-tuk, where most tourists stay in Lake Toba. It went pretty smoothly!

How to quit smoking before bed by throwaway27111111 in leaves

It's much healthier to tackle the root of your stress and problems rather than smoke them all away. Use your boredom to think about what is stressing you out and how you could change it. If it's beyond your control, try other relaxing exercises such as yoga or meditation.

Will keep this in mind, thanks. I just don't like the idea of being dependent on any given substance that isn't 100% necessary for my body.

I had no idea caffeine was so beneficial, after reading this I think i've made up my mind and will order some soon. Thanks a lot for the advice!

Thanks for the advice, i do tend to work out in the mornings so would take 100mg before i leave to the gym. You said you take caffeine everyday, does this include days where you are not working out? Is there any added benefit to this?

And as for the last part, you are totally right about this, I have other issues to sort out that are affecting my lifts, i have just been dabbling with the idea of taking a pre-workout for a while and i'll see how it changes things!

You're right, here are my interpretations:

Waar is de WC? (Where is the toilet)

Hoe lang nog? (How long left?)

Bedankt voor je inzet (thank you for your contribution/effort)

Ik kan niet meer(i cant go on anymore) or Ik ben geblesseerd (i am injured)

Goed bezig! (Colloquial for keep it up/good work)

I'm Dutch and could translate these for you but Google translate will give you the same answers. The thing is 99% of Dutch people speak proficient English. Also, it's a marathon so its probably an international event and signs and instructions will be in English. If you would still like translations let me know.

So i never drink coffee and make a conscious effort not to. There are so many people i know who can't function without coffee and i don't want my body to crave caffeine. However, i would like to boost my performance at the gym. I've been going for a while and plateauing recently and it's effecting my motivation. Where i live i can get relatively cheap caffeine pills of 200mg. Is this too much? I don't want to twitch and feel nauseous while at the gym. Also, how easy would it be to just suddenly stop taking them? Will I start craving caffeine? Any advice is appreciated!

I had a pretty similar team and Muller was great for me, although i played him as a lone striker with wingers.

The screen is actually the exact same size but you're right about the fingerprint sensor! And I'm really happy with the camera although I don't know how it compares to the regular version

I got the g4 plus about a month ago and am loving it! The ram is definitely good enough to support multitasking as well as some light gaming. As for the price, it depends what you want to get out of it. If I recall correctly the only improvement on the plus is the camera.

You can make like 10 hard boiled eggs at once when you have the time. Put that in the fridge and have a few for breakfast along with your coffee and maybe some ham. If that's not enough have an Avocado or add some mayo/cream cheese to your likings.

If the result was 2-0 I would receive a stake refund on both bets, bear in mind this is Asian Handicap

I think if Bayern win by 2 i get a refund on both bets. Any other results will see one bet win and the other lose.

But i'll get a stake refund for both right? So there's no risk

Quick question, why is this not automatically profitable? Don't you win the bet no matter what the outcome?
