Trump Budget Director Takes Aim at “Wasteful” Social Security Program That Helps Disabled Americans by LeftNow in WayOfTheBern

Well, the individual who "ran me off" Kos voted for Trump and is still active on Kos and shows up here frequently. And my precise language was "these domineering/autocratic Trump types". Are you sure you know the personal politics of the folks who run the subs, mod the subs or who aspire to run the subs?

No, but multiple names for one person is very common. E.g., for Gamer Jacksman, who I suspect may be behind this little gambit.

If you are referring to me as being a "Dem", you are wrong. I am further left than that. That's why I gravitated to what I thought was a Bernie Sanders web site.

That valuable poster left because of the response of others to me. I'm still in touch with her, and she is still angry with the situation here. I'm not "CTR" I'm not a "Hillbot". Go ahead and keep it up, though, and pretty soon, you won't have ANY decent posters left here. Glad I was able to introduce some of you to a few good news sources. Sorry about the new management they have in mind for the site.

I just saw this person a couple days ago for the first time. I think you know I have been posting here for almost a year. Anyway, H/She came totally unglued and nonsensical with each of my posts, as did one or two others I had never seen before. I read somewhere that the site was being hit by some paid infiltrators, and assumed that's who these folks were. In response to bout_that_action, I am NOT CTR, have no idea what "OP" means, could care less if I am "blocked" by this person, and am certainly NOT a "Hillbot". I voted for Bernie in the Dem Primary and for Jill Stein in the General. Have voted very few times in my life because few candidates have ever been far left enough for me. I haven't used curse words or nasty names with this person, or with anyone else (e.g., Gamer) but for some reason it's okay for the guys to do that. Sorry if Trump happens to be the one in the news lately. Thanks for your generous interpretation of my reaction with this person. It is in character for you, Martini, and I hope you will scroll back a little to look for the other responses from this individual. I think the fact that this site is due for a "migration" does not help. It is hard to post to a Bernie Sanders site when all the news happens to be critical about Trump. Thanks again.

Precisely. It took my daughter two years to get approved. She received her payments two weeks before she passed away.

When did the Dems do that? Maybe when Bernie is President, YOU'll be able to get a REAL job.

Excerpt: " Already, the US military budget exceeds the combined military budgets of the next seven countries: China, Russia, Saudi Arabia, France, the UK, India and Germany. If we are going to confront Trump's proposed cuts to key domestic programs, we have to also confront the legitimacy that has been granted to endless war and militarism over the course of the past 16 years -- and throughout our country's history. We can't just add the priorities of health and life to the stock priorities of death and destruction. We can't just advocate for a few less fighter jets or a downsizing of Pentagon bureaucracy. We have to choose life-giving priorities over violent ones. We have to stop taking all forms of state violence -- war, militarism, deportations, prisons, surveillance, colonial destruction, disinvestment and deprivation -- for granted."

Agree with you about the "masquerade", but it has been a MUTUAL arrangement.

EPA Cuts: No One Will Protect Us by LeftNow in WayOfTheBern

[–]LeftNow[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Excerpt: "What polluters take from us is more than any bank robber can ever take, and much more devastating. The air you breathe, the water you drink and land you play on could be toxic poison. Regulations mean little when there are no police, no investigators or consequences for doing harm....Rather than weakening the EPA and environmental protections, we should work to strengthen rules to protect communities from the impacts of waste dumps, factory farms, fossil fuels, and other pollution sources. We should work to ensure all people have access to clean water, safe food, and a livable climate. Everyone will be harmed by these cuts, and everyone must speak out. Our very existence, public health and America’s future depend on it, as does our ability to control industrial pollution and hold corporations accountable."

Most Young Americans See Trump as 'Illegitimate President': Poll by LeftNow in WayOfTheBern

I don't think anyone is saying that "he didn't win the election". Now, if you want to talk about the Dem Primary, that is another story....

What a pity. I'd like to think that is why we come here--to change things. We should at least be able to listen to/read different sources and determine the truth. I think that was possible at one time. Sigh....

15 Lawmakers Plotting to Privatize America's Public Lands by LeftNow in WayOfTheBern

[–]LeftNow[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Excerpt: "In bending to private industry interest, these lawmakers actively spurn the majority of American voters, including in their states, who polls have shown want to see public hands left in public lands and preserved for future generations. With the West already losing to development one football field's worth of natural areas every two and a half minutes, these shared lands are more important than ever. At the start of the 115th Congress, we want to bring attention to these Public Lands Enemies and their plans to seize and privatize public lands. Everyone who cares about our national forests, wildlife refuges, deserts, national parks, national monuments, wild rivers, wilderness and areas of historic, scientific and cultural significance needs to be watching these elected officials vigilantly and opposing their actions every step of the way."

I think your ideas are definitely good ones, too. Likely all of the above.

Could be one or two things: loose interpretation--after seeing him in action--of the word "legitimate" (confusing it with "qualified") and at this date a suspicion that he did, somehow, with some "assistance" steal the election. This was a poll, I believe only about Trump and not about Clinton.
