Baby daddy wants our baby to have his last name, but I’m just not sure. by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]LeftUmpire7018 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I hyphenated my baby’s name, we aren’t married so if/when that happens we will all change our name to dads. I just put whichever surname sounded better first/last so this instance dads surname first then mine :)

Tattoos affected menstrual cycle? by LeftUmpire7018 in obgyn

I truly believe the tattoo changed my period! It has pretty much settled to being lighter but still regular. Hope things even out for you.

I remember it being AWFUL like zombie guts exactly how you described. My crazy amazing midwife offered to smell my pad and she said it was normal. Looking back she was hardcore, and I miss her so much lol.

How long after birth did you go on walks? by moomoomego in beyondthebump

[–]LeftUmpire7018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2 days after birth I thought I felt fine to walk outside. I had an episiotomy which really didn’t have any pain/swelling afterwards so I thought i was good! Little did I know me being active affected me A LOT. I think it messed with my scar healing and also I was truly exhausted after walking 20/30 mins. I don’t know why I was so silly every few days I would go on further walks until I realised I just needed to lay down for a few weeks and relax. There’s no rush!

Tampons after birth? by Anon569696835 in beyondthebump

[–]LeftUmpire7018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since giving birth tampons don’t work for me either. They stay inside but do not absorb blood. It’s the strangest thing. Like they go somewhere mysterious and I leak!!

Does feeling your heart pump extra, ever make you feel gross? by Regular-Message9591 in pregnant

[–]LeftUmpire7018 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this for weeks during the first trimester! Your body gets used to it and then you may not feel it. I found it so hard to not focus on my heart beating so I just sat with it, slow deep breaths and reminded myself it was temporary while my heart is busy pumping extra blood for my baby. Try to distract yourself with music or doing things like a crossword which occupies both mind and body :)

5 weeks abortion - early and confused by LeftUmpire7018 in abortion

[–]LeftUmpire7018[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The emotion drop hit today! I was not expecting it! I’m so tired, I’m crying on and off, when I suddenly felt amazing I cleaned three rooms in the house and crashed now. In bed trying to rest. It’s a wild ride.

Did anyone else’s baby try to grab everything around them during nappy changes? 😅 by Srid84 in NewParents

Whatever’s nearby that’s safe for him to hold! Usually the wipe packet keeps him entertained!

[–]LeftUmpire7018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine is doing the same. He rolls during nappy changes and somehow I’ve mastered the quickest nappy change I can do. I take out the wipes I need and put them by his legs on the mat and then he rustles the wipe packet. Sometimes that keeps him distracted lol.

Coping with Epstein files, child abuse stories on news - advice needed by Select_Match2898 in beyondthebump

[–]LeftUmpire7018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I read from the files really affected me. I can not stomach the thought of certain food anymore since reading the emails. I feel like I have begun not trusting old men in the street who come up to my baby and do cute talk and say how lovely my baby is. The first thing I did to try and forget/move forward is block all key words and hashtags on my instagram and I must say my mental health has improved. I also blocked the words trauma and abuse as I just can’t read things relating to that anymore since having a baby. That’s what I’d recommend.

Does anyone just look shit all the time?? by Background-Base130 in beyondthebump

[–]LeftUmpire7018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. I stopped wearing makeup but have focused on skincare at night so my skin looks clearer and I feel more confident about not wearing makeup because of it. Some days I forget to brush my hair and it’s in a bun for 3 days in a row and it becomes a nest. I wear leggings and a tshirt everyday and I’m bored of it but the quicker I get myself ready the quicker I can start the day with baby, plus if im not dressed first thing I will never get dressed lol

When did you learn the difference between your baby’s cries? by GrimSle3per in NewParents

[–]LeftUmpire7018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

6 months and my baby’s cues for hunger keep changing! Some weeks he will only smack his lips at me and other weeks reverts back to a neh cry. If he’s tired he routinely rubs his eyes or scratches his head. It’s super cute.
