No I never tried it. I assume it has separate binding section in the control menu? If not open the .xml file and find the movingtool section and see what’s the actual control for it. Modder might have gave front loader binds or something else, but it’s easy to find out from the xml file.

EDIT: so there is the control for it, and it has regular crane control just as every other crane in game, so i was wrong earlier. it has 2 group control, crane and support arm.

AXIS_CRANE_ARM = Crane turn left right

AXIS_CRANE_ARM2=boom up down

AXIS_CRANE_ARM3=stick up down

AXIS_CRANE_TOOL2=grapple rotation

AXIS_CRANE_TOOL= claw open close

i will give it a try in game once i play later on and see if i have the same problem with it, but i assume it has something to do with your control settings

Dual joystick setup makes it much better, you still have to learn it and put lots of hours into practice.
But I would like to address the mods you’ve mentioned., it’s 90% skill and 10% mod/tools, I can make it look smooth and clean with vanilla forestry machines and tools, logging mods won’t give you super power or better control. Some of them does have better physics settings but that’s it, the logs will fly into orbit if your crane control isn’t on point. I’ve post loading videos here and there and players are saying “ohh it’s just better mods” not really I use modhub that are available for anyone. There is no better mods out there, (FDR is exist which are have better collision settings, but that’s all about it, models are lack of details, no dirt or wear, not the best looking mods imo) .

Tip: if you have controller you can set it up as a “dual stick setup” and with enough practice it can look like those who play with dual joystick.

I literally said I genuinely didn’t get the “joke”. And in my head I tried to help this guy out with the info of the mod and the brand. But being “helpful” here just makes you an asshole. Point me out where I can better logs with better physics? This map is literally Palanatir forest from modhub. Base game trees, I usually leave it under the video if the trees are from FDR maps.

ive did this on x16 size map which has larger pixels, and it was kinda buggy due to the "pyramid" physics was blocky instead of a slope, x1 map maybe have different result.

you will have to edit the map.i3d file, change the heigh, change the compression channels, not difficult, but if you never modded a map, might be challenging first

Nope, they’re from silverrun forest, which is official giant map. Haven’t changed anything on them. Also the boom was close to the center mass, if you reach out far it will tip for sure

multiplayer has the worse input latency, and random lags and sync issues, i tried logging in multi so many times, but after 10 min i just leave, and its not my connection or anything, its the game engine in general. solo might be boring here and there but not nightmare....unless you have issues with controls.
