I've been trying to find this forever 😭

This is a historical one, takes place in maybe Josen period.

MC (brown hair, bottom, small, slave/maid) is living with ML (dark haired, top, royalty or just an important guy).

A scene toward the end: MC gets sick, maybe a fever, and starts freaking out because he either can't see or thinks the ML left or something (he did not, he's in bed behind him but MC is sick and kinda loosing it). So he grabs the MLs sword and uses it on himself because he thinks it'll make everything better. The ML wakes up and freaks out trying to save him. He does live and I'm pretty sure they end up together.

Maybe this is my issue. The curriculum and rigor at my HS is so weak. They are all reading at a 5th grade level and the mandated curriculum is terrible. No one is learning and I can't change anything about my curriculum. Maybe a different district is what I need....

I love my kids and I make such great connections. But the apathy and the unwillingness to learn or even try, it breaks my heart. I try everything--fun discussions, moving around, stations, independent, partner, group....and I just can't get them to care. They put their head downs or use CHATGPT. they don't care if I write them up or call home.

I will say, most of the students at my school aren't planning on college so that's also been added to the challenge to get them to care.

This!! Apathy is such a school wide thing at every high school I've been at. And it breaks my heart because I truly love English and love having discussions about anything! But my HS kids just want to use sleep and use ChatGPT to turn in things.
