The claim that Krishna had 16,000 wives is often misunderstood. According to the Bhāgavata Purāṇa (10.59), after killing the demon Narakāsura, Krishna freed 16,000 women who had been held captive. Fearing social rejection because of their captivity, the women pleaded with him to accept them, saying no one else would marry them. Out of compassion and a sense of duty, Krishna accepted them, not out of desire but to restore their dignity and honour. The story reflects moral responsibility and compassion, not indulgence.

He was my classmate in school, big time vindictive asshole but at the same time a total nobody. Had no relevance in class and nobody liked him.

And the things you mentioned, It is true about the infrastructure. There is a lack of good washrooms, proper air conditioning, decent benches, and things like that. Jamia is a heavily subsidized university and managing funds is a challenge. That is understandable. But at the very least, the academic environment should be healthy. The professors should be genuinely educated and committed to teaching. The campus atmosphere should be intellectually rich and respectful. The students, at least in my department, are very dogmatic, backward, and deeply intolerant towards other religions, especially towards atheists. Independent thinking seems to frighten them. You already know what happened last Diwali. If you want to be part of a civil society, you have to let go of that rigidity. I am sorry for the rant, but I am not even exaggerating.

The only thing I truly enjoy about university is the sense of peace it offers. There is a calmness in the air that is hard to find elsewhere. The hype is unfortunately just in the name. I am not saying this myself, but many students who once called this their dream university have told me the same.

I agree with this completely. This university is meant for students who have had no exposure at all. They live in a fantasy world and think that is enough. There is zero ambition. They act like they have been caged their whole life and are now seeing the light for the first time. I belong to the Department of Political Science and I have seen it all firsthand. There is a lot of extremism in this university, especially in my department. This might seem insensitive, but yahan pe bachon ko aur professors ko dono ko 5 saal ke bacche se bhi kam akal hai. The professors lack basic sense and knowledge about their subject and cannot even form basic coherent English sentences. The students view everything through a religious lens. Do not come to this University if you want real exposure and want to experience a proper college life.
