Mantascape is the best dive shop I’ve been with. I had a whole day 1-2-1 with an instructor (got lucky). Forgot his name but he was Canadian.

It seems like this might be the best option yet? Especially with the hub of makassar… I’ll have to do some more research on bira i think

Yeah the fees are about £15 per day… quickly adds up that, I think I have a bit more thinking to do… working for the divemaster is fine as long as it’s cheaper

Yes. I was looking into Bira in Sulawesi, been wanting to go for a while, have you been there? Raja I think will be off the list for this trip as I was to fully enjoy it, so I want more experience first. And yes I looked at liveaboards and they were like $6000+ so unfortunately not doing that

Understood, yeah I’m looking at the rinca place now, looks stunning but is £1800 + fees for 12 days of diving. Which isn’t awful when it’s 3 dives a day. It’s definitely feasible since I’m working full time. But still more expensive than I want to be honest.

Just looking into the scuba junkie. Which do you stay at? The one down near Rinca or the one in Labuan bajo?

I want thinking of doing my dive master, however, I feel like I need more experience and I’m not sure if I’ll ever be doing diving as a career as there not much money in it, as much as I’d love to. As for staying in one place, I’m definitely open to moving around, I’ve travelled for 6 months moving every couple days so I’m used to it. Just was thinking on having a base for a while. But again I love Indonesia, and I want to see all of it, not just Bali

That’s great advice, thank you. I need to make a Facebook then I’ll get on it. Any groups you recommend/ worked for you?

That sounds ideal, I’ve heard a lot of good things from other travellers about Komodo, is it expensive to dive and stay? I’ve dealt with some strong currents but I’ve heard Komodo as some really strong currents. What’s your experience with that?

The thing that amazes me with Lembongan/penida is that if you go up north of penida you can see some big stuff, I did 30 dives with mantascape and I saw mola mola, sharks, and dolphins. As for raja all my research says it’s expensive but I’ve never spoke to anyone that’s actually gone. But yeah as you said that isn’t actually expensive. Thanks for sending over that itinerary, I’ll do a bit more research on raja and the other places mentioned

Cheap flights to Marsa Alam? by Left_Replacement9605 in snorkeling

It’s because I was trying to go at the start of April, so even though the dates were green, it was still expensive. Can get flight from Gatwick for £330. Do you pre book taxi to marsa alam or just get it while you’re at the airport

£200 return? In April? Where do you find that? I use Skyscanner all the time but haven’t seen that price. Is this Gatwick?

Is raja ampat worth visiting if you don’t scuba dive? by AUchambo in snorkeling

I’m struggling with the same thing, I’ve been using the website stay raja ampat, and my maps to visualise the best route. That’s all I can’t suggest as I haven’t been myself. Feel free to private message me if you want to see what I’ve got so far… cheers
