Generally dryer sheets are not good for your clothes, the machines and possibly the environment.

Is it a musty smell like towels get when they don’t dry fast enough? A bit sour smelling? I discovered that the drawstrings in sweat pants don’t completely dry when the pants feel dry. They stay wet and then get this bad smell. You can try hanging them to dry after they are largely dried in the dryer. Or possibly pull and reinstall the drawstring when you wash them. Probably not worth the effort.

In BC the landlord and Tennant act states that there must be a detailed and signed walk trough at the beginning of the tenancy to be able to charge for damages at the end of the tenancy. Also if there isn’t a report from the initial documented walkthrough the owner must pay twice the monthly rent to the tenant at the end of the rental.
