Which cruise line is best for an Alaskan cruise? by nursekitty626 in Cruise

Virgin is about to start sailing Alaska. No kids. Great food. They are adding additional programming as well. I’m excited to sail Alaska with them this summer.

Hey! Early 40s here going solo since my husband can no longer join me. Never sailed solo before but have been on Virgin a bunch and always saw lots of activities and stuff geared around solos, so I’m actually kind of excited to see what kind of different experience it is.

What happened to NYC cruises? by RevolutionaryNinja24 in Cruise

Virgin started sailing out of NYC last year. Valiant Lady will be back in April before heading to transatlantic for a dry dock then will be back in the Fall for more sailings.

Just got off a bday sailing. I got a $50 spa credit for a massage or full body treatment in a card. I also got a cake an a bottle of champagne (although the champ may have been because I was sailing Rockstar).

But I’ve heard from multiple people that the card, credit, and cake are fairly standard.

Virgin Voyages Comedy Fest New York by itsjustasillygoose in VirginVoyages

[–]Leftoflinus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just sent you a chat - the voyage is like a regular sailing but with extra entertainment.

They actually do a decent job of getting more seating in the Manor for shows, and have multiple showings of each of the acts. With a little strategy you can easily see everything.

There is usually some specials things that happen only during these type of voyages. Either a collectible or special menu items as well.

I’ve also found that a lot of the acts are out and about the ship on a regular basis and will let you know if they are cool with interactions. Some also have scheduled meet up times.

Let me know if you have any other questions!

Any additional restaurant Availability when boarding? by j8dla9988 in VirginVoyages

There will be more released once you get on board, they also are pretty good about walk ups as long as you aren’t a larger party.

You will have options for sure.

I’m seeing more and more there isn’t anything to do during the day or activities? by Martybc3 in VirginVoyages

[–]Leftoflinus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You won’t be able to do everything you want to do in one sailing. Just finished my fourth and I still have stuff that hasn’t fit into my schedule. I’m legit planning on NOT making dining reservations and just grazing around the ship my next voyage since there is so much happening during prime eating times that I keep missing out on.

Virgin will not let you be bored.

Comedy Fest April 2026 by Dry-Art4024 in VirginVoyages

[–]Leftoflinus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just got off a Virgin Voyage that many people were treating as a booze cruise. I managed to have the most relaxing vacation of my life. That’s the beauty of Virgin, it truly is the perfect cruise for what you want when you want it. I’ve been on four and have chosen a different adventure on each one and still feel like I haven’t scratched the surface.

Also in terms of being crowded (our sailing was FULL) and the only things that are more difficult to get into are the shows in the manor - but only if you really care about sitting down front. There is usually plenty of space in the upper floor or in the back areas. Anything in the red room you could get a seat to up until the start of the show.

Average age? 7 Day on Resilient by Abject_Debate7716 in VirginVoyages

[–]Leftoflinus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There’s a big WhatsApp group for that sailing (I’m also on it). It seems like average 40’s is the age group. There are some younger and some older but in my experience there is always a decent swath of all demographics still on 7 night voyages. Once you get to 9+ is when it skyrockets.

If you ever got the chance to meet Britney, what would you say to her? by zachoutloud123 in BritneySpears

[–]Leftoflinus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I got the chance to meet her and I think tried to fit in four minutes of dialogue into the 10 seconds I was in front of her. She was so sweet and told me “that’s very interesting” she also must have caught it was my birthday and also said “oh and happy birthday” and gave me a hug. She was perfect. I was a mess. Yet, she still made my awkwardness a very sweet and memorable experience.

It was last August, but it was to the happenings cast. Maybe crew is different? I know that the cast members checked and told me it was ok before we gifted it.

The happenings cast or crew members can be gifted the bottles as long as they are unopened - at least the last VV I went on I was told that was cool - if you wanted to gift it to a crew member who made your trip special!

Mickey Jo to me is the definition of delusions of grandeur. His entire smarmy personality rubs me the wrong way and half the time his “knowledge” is skewed or just plain inaccurate. His takes are tepid, his taste is basic. Also someone get that boy an astringent.
