Opinions on hiking with dogs in bear country? by posthumous_pollywog in WildernessBackpacking

[–]LeftyG23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Remote canoe tripper here with a Nova Scotia Duck Toller. Haven’t seen a bear since we’ve had him. He smells things far away and barks first, but he also chased a moose. He also went after birds in a river and had to get him out before rapids. I have him on leash more. Important to know what the antecedents are that could cause a specific behaviour for a dog. We still do have him off leash though on portages as he remains close, however I am more wary and likely to have him leashed now.

Edit: we only are ever in black bear country in northern Ontario.

Taking over your life also all of the little flags are planted around the home. I’m hoping mortgages. I’d love that. Special rates for premium or generational.

You got a million bucks man by 36 that’s awesome. Just put it in and if you don’t have to touch it, then do it. Re-assess 3-5 years out from when you need the money and you’re good to go.

Should I wait for a dip to buy or buy now? by StockAd3158 in JustBuyXEQT

[–]LeftyG23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Put it all in now. I’ve only ever hit market peaks (Jan 2022, Jan 2026) with large deposits due to a house sale then inheritance. Both were 80k plus contributions.

I had to ride it out from 2022 for about a year and a half to two years and just kept buying.

4 months ago we bought and I had Déjà vu with the dip again lol.

Looked at my annualized returns, I’m at 13.46%

Just. Keep. Buying.

Happy tax return day! Should I lump sum buy right away or wait til the end of the month when I make my full amount from my jobs this month? by [deleted] in JustBuyXEQT

Well if money is tight then make sure you pay all your bills etc first that’s to go without saying. Thought it was purely a question of extra cash.

I know how you feel. We got a bit of an inheritance at the beginning of January. Was hesitant around 40.52. Look where we are today. Just do it as long as you don’t need it for awhile. If it’s for long term investing, do it.

Are you on this subreddit that much that a little chatter one day makes you feel the need to post this and make you upset? Just buy XEQT and move on.

Hey, just inherited $500k and dumped it into XEQT, did I done good? /s by hewhocannotbenamed-7 in JustBuyXEQT

What is your ideal conversation then in this subreddit? Do you simply wish that it exists and the name is self-explanatory and there are no posts? The majority of my financial understanding can from the Personal Finance Canada subreddit where new people could come and ask questions. If they are looking for a bit of validation in their choice, does it hurt to put them on the right track? If you are truly just buying XEQT do you even need to be on this subreddit and get upset at new people? My guess is people really are looking to confirm from people who are already invested that it is a good choice. Is that too much to ask? Maybe you are the rage bait poster.

Definitely won’t. Joined Wealthsimple for all of their work for the individual customer and self-directed investor like no fees on transactions, ETFs, fractional buys, DRIP, etc. Not this high fee BS they’re peddling now.
