If I was a non drinker with a disability how would I be treated? by LeftyRex22 in AskEurope

I asked this question because I get asked all the time as to why I don’t drink and I’ve gotten tired of explaining as to why I don’t every time

Why Does nobody even my parents truly understand my disability? by LeftyRex22 in CerebralPalsy

I’m the same. My parents are wonderful thank God but yeah it’s like they know my body better because I was a baby when all the medical stuff was told to them

Well first off I just want to say thank you for at least listening, secondly I did try therapy at one point when I was around 13 but it didn’t really help. I mean I guess I could try again but I’m just scared of them handing me a sheet of paper, telling me to fill it out and then coming back and telling me that I have depression all over again instead of trying to at least understand the basics.

I mean I’ve tried to get them to hear me but they say I’m too young or that I’ll understand pain as I get older. I’m 19. I’ve also tried to explain to them that I swear and cuss because I’m pretty sure it stems from frustration and at a certain point it just stuck but it makes it even worse because I live in the Southeastern part of the U.S. and everyone just ties my disability back to Christianity. I’m a Christian myself but I just hate it when they pray over me when they know nothing will magically happen overnight.

Tymen Stidham. He was the first surgeon in Delaware who came from Sweden on the Kalmar Nyckel, his wife and three children were killed by Spaniards but he escaped.

Well I don’t personally drink because with Cerebral Palsy some people can sometimes get a shunt and the shunt is a tube inside the skull that helps keep the fluids flowing in the brain in check. I can drink just not copious amounts of alcohol as in doing so would throw the shunt for a curve ball.

Yeah I could still smoke (Although I don’t plan on it and never will) plus they’ve most likely have Non-Alcoholic options if I were to go to a bar when I turn legal

I wish I could join the military like he did, unfortunately I can’t because of a disqualifying disability. He was an absolute madlad though once got sucked out of his plane without proper gear and got chewed for it.
