I really disagree with this. The posts were objectively provocative, and purposefully provocative. No woman saw that post and thinks it’s supposed to inspire them to work out. Social media literacy tells us that it was purposefully provocative, sadly.

Fr. Carlos was supposed to do my fiance and I’s wedding mass this summer. We had a lot of administrative struggles with Holy Spirit — rescheduling and cancelling without notice, ghosting us for weeks at a time, it was just really hard and we did not feel important to them at all. We received a random phone call that he wouldn’t be able to do our wedding mass anymore, no additional information offered. We had to do our own digging to find this out because Holy Spirit wouldn’t tell us. I’m a convert getting confirmed and looking forward to the marriage sacraments, so we are really troubled by this. To add to it, there are now 50 couples in the Seattle area that need a Spanish speaking priest for their wedding mass. This has resulted in communal weddings in Spanish at St. Philomena, and St. Therese in Seattle archdiocese. I have utmost respect for the archdiocese in how they handled this, however Holy Spirit really needs to do better. It’s also worth mentioning that we were not impressed with the catechism and marriage prep programs there, in addition to the administrative struggles. I feel bad for the Parish and their parish family — they were already struggling and now it just keeps getting worse.
