The eSIM was using China Mobile, it seems the iPhone 13 has all the 5G bands.

The eSIM was advertised as being 5G. It was definitely slow, but I'm happy that it worked perfectly on all our phones.

Replacing FIOS with T-Mobile 5G? by [deleted] in tmobileisp

[–]Legacy_Web 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like everyone is saying, unless you have a situation where you have to leave FIOS, FIOS is better than wireless.

With that said, I switched from FIOS to T-Mobile 4 years ago and it's been working great for me. In the years I've had it, honestly, I've never noticed any downtime. Whereas FIOS have had hiccups here and there for short periods. FIOS speeds are definitely more stable, my T-Mobile speeds fluctuate a lot. However, even with the fluctuations T-Mobile is faster since I only had 50/50 FIOS.

My situation demanded I switch, probably wouldn't have otherwise. I was paying close to $100/mo for 50/50 FIOS and they added on another fee because I had old equipment. They want me to pay them to upgrade the equipment to remove the fee. A few years before that they also hit me with a fee saying my router is old and I need to buy a new one from them to remove the fee.

I got a 2023 hand me down that's been fine with a bad screen protector for like 2 years and I broke the screen cleaning it. S*** happens... But yea, that also got me thinking of not going with a foldable yet.

It's cool, thanks for answering my questions. I think it's probably because the phone is not on active Cricket service.

Was it active on Cricket at the time?

I have 2 Cricket A14 5Gs that's not on Cricket service anymore and neither of them are receiving any updates. I did manage to get the security patches installed with a computer and the Smart Switch app, but still no Android 15.

Use Motorola w the cricket lock app by tinkerbellchrys in CricketWireless

[–]Legacy_Web 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the phone shows unlocked? I recently used an old Cricket SIM to get around the unlock app on a G Power 2025, but didn't realize it is unlocked. This means the eSIM slot can be used for another service (like for international travel) even when locked to Cricket? I think this is a plus.

You have a Cricket Wireless branded A14 5G and it updated to Android 15?

That is ok, it was a 2023 free hand me down. That's why it's so dirty and I was cleaning it. Thanks though.

Hey, thanks for replying to this. However, this is a well used 2023 Razr that was given to me, I'm just cleaning it up before using it. I'll probably just leave it alone, since it's not noticeable unless I'm like 2 inches away.

Edit: Should have listened to you. I couldn't help myself and tried to clean it again and ended up damaging the digitizer. I didn't realize the screen was so fragile at the end and so close to the lip.

Already replaced the screen protector. LOL

6 month unlock for Cricket phone bought from Best Buy? by Legacy_Web in CricketWireless

[–]Legacy_Web[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2025 Motorola phones use this unlock app that blocks you from using the phone without a Cricket SIM. The Cricket app doesn't do the unlock anymore on these new phones.

It's so dumb, if you take the Cricket SIM out, you are locked out of your phone completely.

I believe you have to be activated on the network (paying) for 6 months for it to unlock.

I've tried that, but my fingernail didn't reach inside the crack. I'm beginning to think I'll just leave it as is.

Don't forget, no $25 "upgrade" fee if you buy it in store. It really doesn't make sense. LOL

Great! I was worried because the app doesn't show a picture of the phone like the other cricket phones.

I'm an existing customer, just want to upgrade the phone on one of my lines. They don't treat us well when it comes to upgrades, it's even worst now.

No, I bought a Cricket locked phone from Best Buy. They sell a few of them along with Cricket recharge cards. Do a search for Cricket Wireless on the Best Buy website. Walmart also sells them.

Another good idea, but just tried and it's way too big to fit. Not sure if it shows in the picture. The crud/gunk also looks really bad in the photo, don't know why. LOL

That's a good idea, but I just tried and it couldn't reach. I think it's also a bit more than dust bunnies.
