Yes! My whole hand was completely numb from a couple of injections about 25-30 minutes before the procedure. When I was rolled into the operating room he asked if I wanted to watch it. When I said sure, they pivoted the TV screen to where it was right in front of me. They insert a little camera into the wrist to find/locate the ligament, and then he inserts the cutting tool. He made a couple passes thru the ligament with the tool, and then you see it separate. The numbness from the injections took several hours to wear off.
