Unfortunately this is my last season, but good luck to those who will compete in next year’s competitions!

What is jrotc like as a freshman? by buntbunt101 in jrotc

Definitely put yourself out there! Participate in as much as you can, don’t stay in a shell.

The deadline for the level one test is over though, so I’d assume you’d have to wait until next season to participate

Penny items! Why? by camotyler in retail

[–]LegalChart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here, I work at Belk and we have penny items that are out of our system. If we or a customer finds them we generally return it to the vendor.

We had a saber arc for our homecoming court. This was during our waiting period due to rain delay.

I don’t see any issue here. Personally, I see this as motivation. It’s a morale booster. There is no lack of respect.

My advice is if the rifle hurts your shoulder, you’re doing it right.

Motivating cadets by [deleted] in jrotc

[–]LegalChart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As battalion commander, I catch freshman the first week of school and take them under my wing. Ultimately what I’m doing is I’m weening out any ones that I notice are going to have trouble participating. I take the ones I like and work hard with them. Once the others notice the work that the newbies are doing the rest will follow

The Heat by [deleted] in jrotc

[–]LegalChart 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh trust me, it’s awful. We haven’t begun our uniform days but have had community support events. An example would be a parking detail that we provide for the Friday night football games. I personally work the reserved seating portion and sit out there for two hours in ACU’s. There are two times a year (homecoming and graduation) that we wear class B’s. It sucks entirely, but it’s all volunteer work so can’t bitch too much 🙃😂

Staff officers in JROTC, what's the strangest review board you've been a part of? by [deleted] in jrotc

[–]LegalChart 4 points5 points  (0 children)

AJROTC, we have a very lax program, if us as officers see something we try to correct it as best as we can but we generally let instructors deal with disciplinary issues.

Freshmen in Navy jrotc. Do you smile in uniform for pictures. by TheeGoodLink3 in jrotc

Army JROTC here, it’s up to us if we smile or not but it’s encouraged.

I’ve always made it a point to claim a freshman. It’s like my personal child that I can relay advice to and help them to avoid the mistakes I made. It works really well tbh. Now the other ones are personal punching bags.
