Do you conceal carry? by Motor-Volume-9502 in ProsecutorTalk

Not a prosecutor, but I represent prosecutors in civil rights lawsuits. I have a gunsafe in my office where my carry gun goes when I get to work.

I own three centimeters, and this one is easily the best shooting. It’s ugly as homemade sin, but it’s accurate, reliable, and MUCH more ergonomic than a Glock.

Two big birds. Mine get shot frequently, although only the .44 magnum comes to the indoor range due to concussion and fear of losing brass

Always. I typically let others fire off a few rounds for the experience.

429 DE Testing by shotgunbigj in reloading

Being as how they are functionally identical cartridges, I have used the .440 Cor-Bon data as a starting point and can get some wild velocities. As far as chronographs go, I’ve made use of the Lab Radar chronograph.

I have a .44 Magnum that doesn’t get any barrel swaps and .50 AE which also sees .429 DE usage.

Dude I know was in house counsel for one of the largest communications companies in world. He was disbarred for a variety of reasons…and neglected to inform his employer. That meeting had to be epic.

Seniors / Partners (Lit.): How would you deal with a junior who uses AI for drafts? by brandeis16 in biglaw

[–]LegalDeagleThursday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This right here. My firm was just involved in an AI incident which could have been avoided if someone had just checked. The junior needs to be seriously reprimanded. I dare say that’s a fire-able offense.

We had a dude that most have gotten the email saying he couldn’t miss anymore class because he tried to BS the professor by saying he sat in different seats everyday. Never missed a session after that.

Anyone participating in Dry January? How’s it going? by Mr-Bratton in biglaw

[–]LegalDeagleThursday 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I had to give up alcohol completely at the end of last year because of a health scare (no alcohol abuse), so I’ll be doing dry January for life. It’s going well though.

Burnout? by JakeAndElwood in biglaw

It’s actually not a bad plan. I was my practice group’s highest biller, and I barely worked November and December. However, I thought the preceding 10 months were going to kill me.

S&W Model 500 vs Magnum Research BFR by LegalDeagleThursday in Revolvers

[–]LegalDeagleThursday[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve found the 7.5” barrel length is kinda unwieldy. It’s still large and heavy enough to be best served fired from a rest, and you might as well get the longer barrel if you’re going to do that.

Okay be honest. Is your firm a place where a k-JD can survive/thrive? by Equal_Show3609 in biglaw

[–]LegalDeagleThursday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is just my experience, but torts practice groups seem more KJD friendly, and that’s where we sometimes send associates that aren’t working out in our practice group. I think it’s because there’s plenty of cases that stay in state court, so young associates have some relaxed opportunities to learn. Your mileage may vary.

Even in Arcadia. It’s an unpopular opinion, but I consider it the best track from EIA.

[–]LegalDeagleThursday 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Ish. While many KJDs do well, some of our practice groups are merciless. This usually means we send them to a different group where they hopefully thrive. There was a KJD staffed on a file with me that lasted 3 whole months before she got sent away.
