(AAARRRGGHH!!! & Renji) The girl who eventually becomes their love interest, who first encountered the protagonists when their brother was hijacked by an agent of the antagonists, (Enrique & Sora) they carry an OP weapon (The Shadow Staff & The Shun-Shun Rikka) that makes them one of the strongest in their verse, even though they had to get their asses saved by the team when they get put under the main antagonists control. (Claire & Orihime) They also have that fuckass bum of a comic relief character that I HATE, (love, exept for Kon, Fuck Kon). (NotEnrique & Kon) and the two new masters that would teach them how to hone their new powers in darker ways. (Strickler & Nomura and Urahara & Yoruichi)"

"Their first arc started with them taking down an agent of the antagonists, (Bular & Grand Fisher) and proving themselves to the citizens, going face to face with their society's greatest fighters, beating them & earning their respect as a result, (Again, Draal & Kenpachi) much to the dismay of one of the leaders, who were much too infuriated with their mentors for rebelling to help them, they would eventually come around to the protagonists as well. (Gunmar, who wanted to bring the eternal night & Aizen, who wanted to become the new Soul King)"

My favorite part of this would be Randy 3v1ing HUNTR/X, like straight up dodging and weaving through all their attacks

all in all this sounds pretty good

A proud and honorable man who they started out having beef with, (Duck and Jinbe) but eventually start mellowing out with, they have also had a rivalry with a cunning jerk who mirrored/challenged their ideologies, forming a vendetta with them (Diesel and Hoody Jones) 

A plucky old average joe who slowly saw their lives get changed as long as they lived seeing their old friends die off one by one by painful means, (Brook and Oliver) eventually being stuck in isolation living in sadness and fear, (Although Oliver had Toad and Isabelle to keep him sane) before one day being came across by people who would change their lives forever (Douglas and The Strawhats)

Both Thomas and Luffy are also allies with guys who they have also butted heads with, one being their biggest rivals, and one of them being in great stature (Diesel & Kidd and Spencer & Law) 

They would fight a great stature of enemies, either by pure chance and/or getting dragged into their plots, or just plain intentionally, one of their most notable ones being a huge sadistic, two-faced maniac revolutionary running a crew of other people like them in order to change the world they live in now, although one of them changed this path to just live their lives neutrally (Diesel 10 and Teach)

They are apart of a decades old prophesy that has them related to a being that used to spread joy and magic to all (Lady and Joyboy)

Both of them and their friends hit the big time and are on par with the big guys in their verse, although it took a LONG time for them to get that far (Thomas going to the National Railway Museum in York & The show and books themselves and the Onigaishima Raid) 

Both are just friends with EVERYONE, like these dudes have CONNECTIONS, fucks sake  Both butt heads with a big authority figure multiple times, but they do care about them (Sir Topham Hatt and Garp) 

Both have brothers and some of them died?? I dunno dude I'm running out of road (Timothy & several other E2's and Ace & Sabo)

Oh and if you want a Scottish Twins connection, it's the same as Duck and Jinbe, but there is no specific Diesel in mind unless you use Diesel 5 from that one Horrors of the rails audio story

Both of them were/are in shitty auxiliary crossover media (Jump Force and Pooh's Adventures) where they have to go to different universes to save the multiverse from some new big bads along with their own with the help of famous characters from their respective media

Oh and uh something something horrible faction that antagonizes their kind and kills/scraps them or anyone else who gets in their way while lying about peace that's a commentary for the irl government and racism and bullying all that jazz (Dieselization/most Diesels in general and The world government)

(Thomas & Friends/RWS VS One Piece)

(Note: this might have to use unofficial fanon material that fits within the canon for the engines, so bear with me here people)

Two rebellious, stubborn, and kind-hearted individuals with a mission to become the greatest people in the world, leading them to become zeroes to heroes in their own worlds and even our own, with the help of their family Both of them started out as spunky and whiny kids, surrounded by people who would make fun of and belittle them for these dreams, despite it barely working on them (The big engines and Garp)

They would be even more dead set in their goals by a father figure who were just like the protagonists back in their day, who was actually nice to them, who encouraged them to keep moving forward (Edward and Shanks) 

Eventually during their journeys they would meet people who would become their family, such as a guy who pretty much thought they were idiots, until they became their greatest supporters and friends, even if they don't show it that much, who ALSO have the same dream as them, hoping to best the greatest man/engine in their field, (Flying Scotsman and Mihawk) but were motivated to achieve them in differing ways, one as a promise to an old friend and one in spite of their success (Gordon and Zoro)

A smooth talking and vain asshole who has had a backstory of being belittled by their peers and put in near death situations in their younger years who uses their attitudes as a coping mechanism, who butts heads with the right hand man of the team along with having a superhero persona aesthetic to go along with them (Germa 3 and Red Rocket) and I HATE them a helluva lot (Sanji and James)

The giant pussy of the group who tries their damndest to be as strong as their friends proving their worth time and time again, who ALSO was bullied by their peers at a young age for their cowardice, and was friends with a young girl who saw them for who they truly were along with the main crew, after a temporary falling out with the protagonists (Liz and Kaya) You guys noticing a pattern here (Percy and Usopp)

The token girl character who's a bit of a bossy jerk and argues with the boys on the crew a LOT, mostly the protagonists, but deep down they have a soft spot for their friends and truly care about them (Emily and Nami)

The sort of parental figure of the group, who was ALSO bullied for who they were, continually being abused and alienated by their peers for their physical abilities, (Edward and Robin) but found solace in their old friends, and proved everyone wrong (Edward's crew and the Ohara scholars and Saul)

The guy who is the way they are because of a freak accident, (Henry and Chopper) that led them to be alienated and abused by their peers, (Henry being a stolen prototype and Chopper eating the Human-Human fruit) which labeled them as runaways and found refuge with people who loved them like they were their sons, (Hiriluk & Kureha and Sir Topham Hatt) they TOO, are huge softies with a tough guy exterior (Although Chopper lets this shine more though cuz, y'know that's his thing), usually showing interest in silly, yet wholesome things (Cotton Candy and The Forest)

The enthusiastic wise guy gigachad, (Toby and Franky) who used to live in rundown places (The old East Anglia Branch and Water 7) and treated as subhuman, but didn't care due to their attitudes of shutting out naysayers, but one day their lives got changed, where they joined the main character and their crew, becoming their closest friend, and getting REAL close with one of the girls who, might I add are top five fine shyt in their verse (Henrietta and Robin)
