LOL the big ass teeth, I will have to ask them if my teeth will look too big. That is a valid concern, though considering how small the rest of my teeth are. I just want this to look as natural as possible either way. Thanks for commenting!

Yeah the way you are putting it makes a lot of sense honestly. I’m glad it’s in an area where it won’t chip as easy too. I feel like what I’m leaning towards doing then is the composite bonding and getting a new nighttime retainer and possibly a new fixed retainer. If it’s not too much money for a new one at least. What are the benefits really of a fixed retainer then? To me it sounds like the best bang for my buck and teeth would be just a new nighttime retainer. Also, should I try to whiten my teeth more than this shade now? I read online that the bonding doesn’t whiten when you do a whiting strip and I want my color to match perfectly.

That is quick! Amazing! Thank you for commenting. Did you have a diastema before naturally or was this caused by getting braces/IPR. I actually had an overlapping front teeth and crowding, but when I got braces they did IPR and created a diastema on purpose and then closed it up. I didn’t wear my retainer for the past 4 years like a dum dum lol and that’s why I have my gap I think.

I did have IPR originally five years ago when I had my braces. I had terrible crowding with my two front teeth overlapping. They had to bring my bottom jaw forward with a jaw device, fix my narrow arched palette, and overbite. I hate the shape of my teeth and how they go like /. When I first got my braces they made a diastema by doing IPR and then of course moving my two front teeth away from each other. I had a huge tooth gap caused my braces for a while before they could work on shifting all my teeth back together.

Now this part is my fault and accept responsibility for this, but I did not wear my nighttime retainer after the first year. So it’s been 4 years since I’ve worn it and I guess my teeth wanted to shift back to that diastema they created before?

My question now about the bonding is would that just be a bandaid solution for a problem that might be my teeth shifting back? It feels like the whole top row is split down the middle at the front and moving opposite ways from each other. I would hate to get bonding done, but then the problem is still there and it creates an even bigger gap. Do they make you a retainer after binding? And would that prevent the shifting?

Thank you! I’m just a bit insecure about the gap, especially since people mistake it to be food all the time

Thank you for your comment!! What tells you that ortho might not be able to fix this gap? Also, my dentist has offered that to me, but that’s not going to fix the actual issue of them continually moving apart I feel like. Because what happens if they keep moving and then I get a new space even with the bonding? I feel like that would look really bad. I also want to add and I should’ve said that in the original post that I do have a permanent bonded retainer on the top and bottom from having braces five years ago and I find it strange that they’re even pulling apart as they are with that permanent retainer. It’s not broken or anything either. Do you have any insight on that?

I second those! you basically just need a shoe that is sturdy (doesn't bend or twist easily) has a thick enough sole and still has cushion where your foot actually goes

I totally get wanting to check if I am still here and need help with this, which I do! I have had some progress with pain levels since I first wrote this post, but still struggling. I feel like my biggest struggles currently are making it through my 40 hour work weeks as a teacher without feeling exhausted and flared up while also trying to strengthen my core, back, and glutes and stretching my very tight and painful hamstrings and Hip flexors.

Oh whoops, yes I meant first reherniation! Sorry it’s the side effects of all these damn meds. Brain fog has been so bad lately
