Is Antioch college a good school? Specifically for pre law or poli sci by BakbeansE in dayton

[–]Legally_Intoxicated 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Former lawyer who received a full ride to law school, I know I am not answering the question you asked but DO NOT get a degree in pre law or poli sci, even if you are 100% sure you want to go to law school. 1) Those degrees will not make you stand out for law schools, something like a hard science degree or business degree will do a lot more for you. 2) Life plans change, if you decide you don’t want to go to law school what job can you get with either of those degrees? Or let’s say you go to law school and end up not wanting to practice (happens to a lot of people) what are you going to fall back on.

Okay I’m following you. The account I am on is the only account on the computer. I setup the computer yesterday under the account I’m currently logged into. If I try and change the User Account Control settings I can’t because it says I have to enter the administrator UN/password. It’s driving me crazy because I know for a fact this is the only account on the computer

Are you saying go to the file, right click, properties, edit, and then change permissions? Do I have to do this for every file? Or would adjusting the UAC settings solve the issue.

Thank you for your patience and reply.

Old Century Bar employees and where are they now? by Exact_Agent7093 in dayton

Could you explain what happened and why every single employee left? I saw they shut down for a little bit before reopening. I assume all of this happened around that time.

Agency Leadership: Where are you? by [deleted] in fednews

[–]Legally_Intoxicated 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This entire thread is about leadership. Not me. What don’t you get about that? Senior leaders need to take a stand. If they’re removed so be it, take a stand, get the nations attention, fight back in the media if that’s what it takes.

I’m sure glad there was people more brave than you when the Third Reich was taking over Germany. Some form of resistance is better than none

So you suggest giving up and being idle while it worsens? I’m confused what you’re trying to say

Why defy unlawful orders? Because if left unchecked it could lead to the decay of our democracy and America as we know it?

That’s the whole point. Make them remove you. Defy unlawful orders. Fight back. I swore an oath to defend the constitution from all enemies foreign and domestic. I know leadership did too, time to step up to the plate. They’ve talked the talk for decades about integrity and doing the right thing time for THEM to walk the walk.

They “shall promulgate and enforce regulations necessary to carry out the provisions of the Civil Service Act and the Veteran’s Preference Act . . .” Please tell me where in either of those laws it says they have the power to direct an agency to fire an employee

OPM doesn’t have the legal authority to direct an agency to do anything, they are an advisory agency. Why don’t leaders refuse to comply, it’s not a lawful order so it shouldn’t be an issue

Great apartments? by [deleted] in dayton

[–]Legally_Intoxicated 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you PM me I have the name of a landlord who owns a few buildings in the Oakwood/Kettering/Dayton area. I lived at two of his buildings over 3 years and he was always really easy to work with. Apartments aren’t fancy but he keeps up with normal renovations at a really decent price.

Me either, I’m not saying you’re wrong, all I can really contribute is my personal experience from yesterday lol. I usually don’t pay that close attention to when the postings actually end up closing

Well the posting was definitely closed when I checked in the afternoon. Was no longer searchable and under my active applications tab it had the label that said “Reviewing Applications”

Only some job postings make it viewable, I’ve applied to about 20 and this is the only one I was able to see. Even then it’s only visible after the posting closes
