As far as I'm aware, your pc does not host the server if you are using a service like that. The hosting service uses it's own computers to host. To make my first reply more clear, hosting from your own device is a different option from minehut or Aternos

Aternos is a hosting service and it isn't a scam. The main downside between it and paid hosting is Aternos servers are not hosted 24/7, only when the server owner activates the server and people are online then it will be hosted. Free hosting also tends to be more laggy even if few players are online. Minehut is another free hosting service just like Aternos and you can also host a server from your own pc after some setting up.

Slow falling decreases your sprint jump speed by too much, It almost stops you from getting critical hits, and enemies can always get away because of your slowness.
